Always Human is a beautifully drawn, sapphic graphic novel about a developing relationship between two young women in a near-future, soft sci-fi setting. First serialized on the popular app and website WebToon, Always Human amassed over 51 million views and nearly 700,000 subscribers. Now, for the first time, this incredible story has been reformatted for a print edition! Along with the sequel Love and Gravity, get ready to fall in love with this ground-breaking story of support and romance. "This beautifully illustrated slice-of-life tale that shows two young women of color getting to know each other and creating a relationship is so warm and charming that readers will hardly notice how much they are learning about how to better interact with folx who are different from themselves and the importance of not making assumptions." -- Kirkus Reviews "...soft, expressive art adds a visceral charge to the couple's very human experiences, which range from excitement and affection to pain and doubt." -- Publisher's Weekly "This wholesome plot focuses on building understanding, offering mutual support, and budding self-acceptance, as well as the importance of asking rather than making assumptions; avoiding othering; and regarding all those in one's orbit with compassion...A charming, sensitive story of love and acceptance." --School Library Journal " In a technologically advanced near future, two young women bumble through their first dates and fights together as they enjoy the exhilaration of new love....Always Human by Ari North is an endearingly feel-good sapphic romance set against a diverting futuristic backdrop." --Samantha Zaboski, Shelf Awareness In the near-future, people use technology to give the illusion of all kinds of body modifications-but some people have "Egan's Syndrome," a highly sensitive immune system that rejects these "mods" and are unable to use them. Those who are affected maintain a "natural" appearance, reliant on cosmetics and hair dye at most to help them play with their looks. Sunati is attracted to Austen the first time she sees her and is drawn to what she assumes is Austen's bravery and confidence to live life unmodded. When Sunati learns the truth, she's still attracted to Austen and asks her on a date. Gradually, their relationship unfolds as they deal with friends, family, and the emotional conflicts that come with every romance. Together, they will learn and grow in a story that reminds us no matter how technology evolves, we will remain . . . always human. Rendered in beautiful detail and an extraordinary color palette, Always Human is a sweet love story told in a gentle sci-fi setting by a queer woman cartoonist, Ari North. Published in partnership with media advocacy organization GLAAD, this empowering book positively represents LGBTQ families.

Walking The Great North Line written by Robert Twigger and has been published by Hachette UK this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-04-23 with History categories.

Robert Twigger, poet and travel author, was in search of a new way up England when he stumbled across the Great North Line. From Christchurch on the South Coast to Old Sarum to Stonehenge, to Avebury, to Notgrove barrow, to Meon Hill in the midlands, to Thor's Cave, to Arbor Low stone circle, to Mam Tor, to Ilkley in Yorkshire and its three stone circles and the Swastika Stone, to several forts and camps in Northumberland to Lindisfarne (plus about thirty more sites en route). A single dead straight line following 1 degree 50 West up Britain. No other north-south straight line goes through so many ancient sites of such significance. Was it just a suggestive coincidence or were they built intentionally? Twigger walks the line, which takes him through Birmingham, Halifax and Consett as well as Salisbury Plain, the Peak district, and the Yorkshire moors. With a planning schedule that focused more on reading about shamanism and beat poetry than hardening his feet up, he sets off ever hopeful. He wild-camps along the way, living like a homeless bum, with a heart that starts stifled but ends up soaring with the beauty of life. He sleeps in a prehistoric cave, falls into a river, crosses a 'suicide viaduct' and gets told off by a farmer's wife for trespassing; but in this simple life he finds woven gold. He walks with others and he walks alone, ever alert to the incongruities of the edgelands he is journeying through.

A guidebook of half and full-day walks in the lovely Haute Savoie mountains of France. This guide describes 30 circular routes of between 7 and 13km, based around Evian-les-Bains, Morzine, Abondance, Chatel, St-Julien-en-Genevois, Bellevaux, Boege and Habere-Poche. Graded from easy to difficult, there are walks to suit most abilities, but a few have some exposed sections and need a head for heights. The guide is divided into 6 areas covering the Saleve and Vuache, the Vallee Verte, the Vallee du Brevon, Pre-Alpes du Leman and Val d'Abondance. With highlights including Cornettes de Bise, Mont de Grange, Dent d'Oche and Pic Bore, the walks in this guide will show you a quieter, less busy side to this outstandingly beautiful area. Alongside a detailed route description and map, each walk has a summary of all you need to know before you set out (distance, time to walk, ascent, maximum altitude and instructions for accessing the start). The guidebook includes advice on travel, accommodation and equipment, as well as information about local wildlife and Savoyard food and drink, and a glossary of useful French words. A companion volume, Walking in Haute Savoie: South, is also available (ISBN: 9781852848118)

The Corbetts (Scotland's 2500-2999ft mountains) are every bit as interesting as the Munros (3000ft and over), often clear when the Munros are in cloud, walkable on short winter days, free of the peak-bagging crowds of their taller neighbours. Walking the Corbetts is divided into two volumes. The guide covers the Corbetts to the north of the Great Glen, which runs from Fort William to Inverness and includes those in Knoydart, Applecross, Torridon and the isles of Skye, Mull, Rum and Harris. Choosing the best, rather than the quickest, routes up each summit the author covers 109 peaks in 90 routes, illustrated with custom 1:100,000 mapping. South of the Great Glen it is the Munros which attract most attention, but along the western seaboard and in the far north it is the Corbetts that dominate the landscape with isolated rocky peaks rising steeply above the sea and inland lochs, in a wilderness of heather and bog dotted with sparkling lochs and lochans. There are spectacular Corbetts all the way from Ardgour to Cape Wrath. The far north-west provides some of the most magnificent mountain scenery in the world and it is difficult to beat the magical islands of Mull, Rum, Skye and Harris.
