The first book in The Seventh River series, Aletheia, takes the young adult dystopian genre to new, and often dark, places. While coming highly recommended to fans of the Hunger Games, Maze Runner, and Divergent, readers will find a gut-wrenching, original plot that dares to stand apart from what is expected of the genre. Brilliant and brutal, Aletheia is praised for tearing deep emotions from even the toughest reader. Whether you enjoy post-apocalyptic, dystopian, or general science fiction, reviewers agree, Aletheia is a must read. Nearly two decades after the fall, the transcendent city of Iris is the only place rumored to have a cure to the disease that decimated the world. Beyond Iris, are the remnants of the old world, crawling with the Depraved. Infected with Lethe, they no longer remember the people or dreams they were once willing to fight for, and are left instead with familiar voices that whisper dark and unfamiliar words within their minds. Instinct is all that keeps the diseased struggling to exist another day. Deep underground, below Iris, exists a compound, prison to the Nameless who traded their freedom for the cure to Lethe. It is here that 736 fights to protect those she loves. Not against the Depraved that she's taught to fear, but against the society that saved her from that fate. She was willing to trade away her rights to regain the ability to form memories, but she won't let the cult that cured her treat the lives of the Nameless like a resource to be used and discarded. At least, not without a fight. How much is 736 willing to sacrifice for revenge against her captors? For those she cares about? For freedom? Everything has a cost, what would you be willing to pay?

Fifty years ago, beloved teacher Sister Catherine Cesnik was the victim of a violent murder that still remains unsolved. "Who killed Sister Cathy?" is a question Sister Cathy's students, colleagues, friends, family members, and community have been asking for years. One of those people is Gemma Hoskins, one of Sister Cathy's former students who appeared on The Keepers, the 2017 Emmy-nominated Netflix docuseries that soon had the rest of the world asking that same question, too. Sister Cathy's life and death have both deeply inspired and haunted Gemma in a number of ways, and she's made it her life's purpose to uncover what really happened on that November night in 1969. In Keeping On, Gemma takes readers on a journey of her life, from her childhood and her time as Sister Cathy's student at Archbishop Keough High School through present day. She reflects upon the experiences that have shaped her, including her own experiences as a teacher, grassroots investigator, and fierce advocate for truth and justice. With candid prose and unyielding honesty, Gemma openly and honestly continues not only the global conversation about the truth behind Sister Cathy's murder, but also reflects upon how Sister Cathy's life profoundly touched those who knew and loved her.

Two years into the all-girl Archbishop Keough High School, I became a naked plaything for a powerful priest who was a counselor there, Father A. Joseph Maskell. This brand-new state-of-the-art school was comprised of 1200 young students who had competed for the honor of being there. I was one of the lucky few accepted into this school. Little did I know then about the dark monster there whose immense power provided him easy access to the girls he considered ripe for the taking. My memoir speaks about how I survived the rampant sex ring at Keough which led to a nun being murdered because she tried to stop the abuse. I am an attorney who was featured in the Emmy nominated docuseries, The Keepers, which aired on Netflix on May 19, 2017, in 175 countries in 25 languages. This production changed my life and made me a celebrity to its many viewers from around the globe. People continue to watch The Keepers which is still promoted as one of the best true crime shows on Netflix. Viewers reach out to me for guidance and to share their stories of abuse on a daily basis. Safe in Socks is my story. I'm not an easy person to understand. Trust is difficult for me. Life as I knew it crumbled and fell into pieces after a trusted priest and his friends sexually abused me in all sorts of perverted ways. I built walls to protect myself and rarely allowed anyone into what I call my inner sanctum, my inner-most self. Slowly, I became able to gather the pieces of my shattered life and reassemble them to survive.... then thrive. This memoir unfolds my journey starting with my carefree childhood, through teenage insanity, growing into adulthood, and finally realizing my dream of becoming an attorney.

The Apriori Foundations Of The Civil Law written by Adolf Reinach and has been published by de Gruyter this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012 with Civil law categories.

The phenomenologists were concerned to show that essential structures of being, knowable by rational insight, are found far more abundantly than is commonly thought. In his great monograph Reinach shows that in the civil law, where one usually thinks that there are only legal structures of human devising, there are in fact many essential structures, such as the structure of promising or of owning. These pre-positive structures, which are something different from the moral norms relevant to the positive law, provide the civil law with a foundation that can be known by philosophical insight. Though the enactments of the civil law are changeable, these essential foundations are not changeable. Of particular significance and originality is Reinach's concept of a social act, that is, of an act that addresses another and has to be heard by the other in order to be complete. Reinach shows that the essence of legally relevant acts such as promising, comes to evidence when they are understood as social acts. The concept of a social act, in fact, has significance far beyond the part of legal philosophy in which Reinach first discovers it.
