Last wars have taught that new wars would be different. The new age technologies have revolutionized the industry and in turn industry is revolutionizing warfare. The distinction between a soldier, a civilian and a machine is blurring. All are gradually becoming one, making warfare more complex and incrementally based on technology. India needs to build a new Defence Industrial Complex, breaking the shackles of legacy. Doctrines of future warfighting must be juxtaposed with doctrines of Defence capability development based on indigenous systems. The wars are shifting towards automation, demanding a transition from analogous systems of warfighting to autonomous systems. It is the responsibility for the military to lead the industry to transform into meeting future needs in the battlefield. The three critical components of technological development are based on Power, Materials and Electronics (PME). Once PME is in place, the next driver would be the ICT to build systems of systems. Speed, stealth and accuracy would be battle wining if systems are secure. The warfare in this monograph has been divided stages such as 'Non - Contact and Non- Kinetic applications', 'Non- Kinetic and Kinetic attacks', 'Contact and Non-Kinetic applications' and Contact and Kinetic attacks. As also it covers various technologies to fight multi-domain operations. It recommends that Military must quickly define and adopt 'Military 4.5' standards which means lead the industry beyond Industry 4.0.

Disruptive And Game Changing Technologies In Modern Warfare written by Margaret E. Kosal and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-09-27 with Political Science categories.

This book explores and analyzes emerging innovations within today’s most cutting-edge science and technology (S&T) areas, which are cited as carrying the potential to revolutionize governmental structures, economies, and international security. Some have argued that such technologies will yield doomsday scenarios and that military applications of such technologies have even greater potential than nuclear weapons to radically change the balance of power. As the United States looks to the future – whether dominated by extremist groups co-opting advanced weapons in the world of globalized non-state actors or states engaged in persistent regional conflicts in areas of strategic interest – new adversaries and new science and technology will emerge. Choices made today that affect science and technology will impact how ably the US can and will respond. Chapters within the book look at the changing strategic environment in which security operations are planned and conducted; how these impact science and technology policy choices made today; and predictions of how science and technology may play a beneficial or deleterious role in the future. Some game changing technologies have received global attention, while others may be less well known; the new technologies discussed within this proposal, as well as future discoveries, may significantly alter military capabilities and may generate new threats against military and civilian sectors.

Disruptive Technologies For The Militaries And Security written by Ajey Lele and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-12-28 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book debates and discusses the present and future of Disruptive Technologies in general and military Disruptive Technologies in particular. Its primary goal is to discuss various critical and advanced elucidations on strategic technologies. The focus is less on extrapolating the future of technology in a strict sense, and more on understanding the Disruptive Technology paradigm. It is widely accepted that technology alone cannot win any military campaign or war. However, technological superiority always offers militaries an advantage. More importantly, technology also has a great deterrent value. Hence, on occasion, technology can help to avoid wars. Accordingly, it is important to effectively manage new technologies by identifying their strategic utility and role in existing military architectures and the possible contributions they could make towards improving overall military capabilities. This can also entail doctrinal changes, so as to translate these new technologies into concrete advantages.

The Panzerfaust-3, a German shoulder-fired heat-seeking antitank missile, can punch through a metre of solid steel-far more than any armoured vehicle could carry. The MPR-500, an Israeli precision bomb, can hammer through several storeys of a building and explode on a chosen floor. These and myriad other military and intelligences technologies are changing the world. This Economist book describes these emerging technologies and places them in the larger context of today's politics, diplomacy, business and social issues. It shows how efforts to win wars or keep the peace are driving enormous and multifold technological advances. Broadly speaking, defence technologies will continue to provide enormous advantages to advanced, Western armed forces. The book is organised into five parts: land and sea, air and space, the computer factor, intelligence and spycraft, and the road ahead, which examines the coming challenges for western armies, such as new wars against insurgents operating out of civilian areas.Comprising a selection of the best writing on the subject from the Economist, each part has an introduction linking the technological developments to political, diplomatic, business and other civilian matters. For anyone who wants to know just how smart the global war, defence and intelligence machine is, this will be revealing and fascinating reading.
