Die kosmische Harmonie ist ein uralter und faszinierender Begriff, dessen erste philosophische Darstellung in den Theorien der Pythagoreer zu finden ist. Den Planetenbewegungen eine Musik zu verleihen, mag für den heutigen Betrachter wie ein poetisches Beiwerk aussehen, ein physikalisches Phänomen mit einer Hülle ästhetischer Wahrnehmung zu verzieren. Hingegen verstand man vor der Moderne unter "kosmischer Harmonie" einen sehr komplexen Zusammenhang von Weltereignissen, der dem letzten Verständnis des Kosmos dienen sollte. Die Elementenharmonie, die Planetenharmonie und die Zusammensetzung der Weltseele sind hierbei drei zentrale Elemente. Diese drei Bestandteile lassen sich in unterschiedlichen Wissensgebieten genauer analysieren: Mathematisch, was die Zahlenverhältnisse angeht, musikalisch und physikalisch, was den Klang betrifft und theologisch sowie hermeneutisch bezüglich der in dieser "höchsten Musik" enthaltene Symbolik. Wie sind die Philosophen und Musikwissenschaftler der Frührenaissance mit diesem komplexen Ideengefüge umgegangen? Die Tiefe und Vielschichtigkeit der kosmischen Harmonie in der Zeitspanne 1434 bis 1525 darzustellen, ist Ziel dieser Monographie. Maria Angelina Bollati studierte Philosophie an der Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (Argentinien), wo sie 2013 mit dem Thema Prästabilierte und Musikalische Harmonie ihr Studium abgeschlossen hat. Neben ihrem Studium lernte sie Musik am Konservatorium der Provinz Tucumán sowie bei der Kammermusikgruppe Camerata Lazarte, mit der sie Konzerte aufführte. 2013 kam sie als DAAD-Stipendiatin im Rahmen eines Austauschprogramms an die Universität zu Köln, wo sie später zum Thema Kosmische Harmonie promovierte.
