Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2018 im Fachbereich Frauenstudien / Gender-Forschung, Note: 3,0, Katholische Hochschule Nordrhein-Westfalen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In welchem Ausmaß Medien die Geschlechtsidentitätsfindung im Jugendalter beeinflussen und prägen, wird das Thema dieser Arbeit sein. Diese Thematik soll nicht nur einen Einblick auf den Einfluss der Medien auf Gender geben, sondern ebenso Veränderungen und Entwicklungen erläutern. Eingeleitet wird diese Bachelorarbeit mit dem Begriff „Gender“ und dessen Bedeutung und Entwicklung. Der stetige Wandel unserer Gesellschaft hat zur Folge, dass das Thema Gender ebenfalls stets präsent ist. Eine Gleichstellung der Geschlechter ist das Ziel einer demokratischen Gesellschaft. Das deutsche Grundgesetz sieht vor, dass alle Menschen gleichberechtigt werden und unabhängig vom sozialen oder biologischen Geschlecht gehandelt werden sollten. Anzumerken ist, dass „Gender“ das soziale Geschlecht darstellt, wobei „Sex“ das biologische Geschlecht ist. Überdies wird ebenfalls näher auf die Bedeutung von Medien im Allgemeinen eingegangen, wobei vorerst der traditionelle und digitale Begriff in Bezug auf den Wandel erläutert wird. Zudem beziehe ich das Thema der Medien direkt auf das Jugendalter, da sie heutzutage zu den Entwicklungsaufgaben der Jugendlichen zählen und deren Entwicklung stark prägen. In einem weiteren Kapitel findet eine Auseinandersetzung mit der Mediensozialisation und Medienrezeption statt. Zusätzlich wird nochmals die Geschlechtsidentitätsfindung im Jugendalter definiert, bei der ich mich auf die Theorien von Hurrelmann und Freud beziehe. Dazu zählen aber auch die Stereotypisierung, Identitätssuche und Selbstdarstellung in Medien.

An in-depth view of the way popular female stereotypes were reflected in—and were shaped by—the portrayal of women in Disney’s animated features. In Good Girls and Wicked Witches, Amy M. Davis re-examines the notion that Disney heroines are rewarded for passivity. Davis proceeds from the assumption that, in their representations of femininity, Disney films both reflected and helped shape the attitudes of the wider society, both at the time of their first release and subsequently. Analyzing the construction of (mainly human) female characters in the animated films of the Walt Disney Studio between 1937 and 2001, she attempts to establish the extent to which these characterizations were shaped by wider popular stereotypes.
