It has become evident within higher education and within (or in partnership with) the workplace that there is a growing demand for an integration of learning within the workplace. Formal and intentional models and processes utilizing experiential learning methods and pedagogy are often referred to as work integrated learning. However, there is a vast cross-conceptualization evident within the field between concepts such as work-related learning (WRL), workplace learning (WPL), work-based learning (WBL), work integrated learning (WIL), and experiential learning (EL). Furthermore, there are vast differences between different applications such as apprenticeships, higher degree apprenticeships (HDA), co-operative education (Coop), internships, placements, projects, sandwich courses, practicums, and more. There is a new focus on the impact of WIL on the future labor force, specifically of generations Z and Y. Applications of Work Integrated Learning Among Gen Z and Y Students presents educational and theoretical concepts related to WIL and Gen Z and Y students as a workforce. The chapters include coverage not only on these concepts, but in-depth research on the implications of WIL on these generations, educational themes in WIL, and WIL innovation. The topic of WIL and all its applications are covered in a global context and for all fields of work, focusing on the skills and expertise gained from the students of work-based learning along with insights on how work-based learning is implemented by teachers and educational administrations. This book is a valuable reference tool for in-service and preservice teachers, administrators, teacher educators, human resources and career development management, practitioners, stakeholders, researchers, academicians, and students interested in insight, theory, and practical examples of WIL from around the world and the impact these have within the workplace as related to generations Y and Z.

Locally or individually, STEM programs provide additional opportunities to engage K-12 students, including those from marginalized groups, with the support of STEM outreach organizations through the co-construction and implementation of STEM activities during school, out of school, at home, and in the community. Research suggests that community-engaged partnerships forge relationships that can enhance and sustain K-12 STEM education efforts between K-12 districts and the scholarly community. There is a need to highlight community-engaged teaching and scholarship produced from partnerships between K-12 school districts and STEM outreach organizations. Developing and Sustaining STEM Programs Across the K-12 Education Landscape describes the purpose of the collaboration between K-12 school districts and STEM outreach organizations, the STEM activities that participating K-12 students engage in, and the impacts on STEM learners that emerge from the partnership. Covering topics such as continuous program improvement, school-industry partnerships, and student success, this premier reference source is an excellent resource for educational leaders and administrators, pre-service and in-service educators, teacher educators, researchers, and academicians.

Values In Science Education written by Deborah Corrigan and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-05-18 with Science categories.
In 2007, the Monash-Kings College London International Centre for the Study of Science and Mathematics Curriculum edited a book called The Re-emergence of Values in Science Education. This book reflects on how values have been considered since this original publication, particularly in terms of socio-cultural, economic and political factors that have impacted broadly on science, technology and society, and more specifically on informal and formal science curricula. Hence, the title of this book has been framed as Values in Science Education: The shifting sands. As in the first book, this collection focuses on values that are centrally associated with science and its teaching, and not the more general notion of values such as cooperation or teamwork that are also important values in current curricula. Such values have indeed become more of a focus in science education. This may be a response to the changing global context, where technological changes have been rapid and accelerating. In such complex and risky environments, it is our guiding principles that become the important mainstays of our decisions and practices. In terms of science education, what is becoming clearer is that traditional content and traditional science and scientific methods are not enough for science and hence science education to meet such challenges. While shifts in values in science education continue, tensions remain in curriculum development and implementation, as evidenced by the continued diversity of views about what and whose values matter most.
