In these troubled and extremist times, when the religion and culture of Islam is under seemingly perpetual attack, it is salutary to consider how much we have in common, and how much we, in the Christian West, owe to the spiritual insights of that great culture. Religious toleration, respect for learning, the concepts of chivalry and brotherhood - these principles were brought by the Islamic Moors when, in medieval Spain, they acted as 'Beacons of Light' in the Dark Ages of European religious arrogance, intolerance and persecution. The Moors gave Europe an architectural and artistic heritage that is still a source of wonder to the modern world. It was in translation from Arabic, not the original Greek, that knowledge of the Greek philosophy became prominent in Christian thought. Western mathematics are based on Arabic numerals and calculations, and the first effective medical school in Europe was founded by Jewish doctors who had been trained in Moorish Spain and North Africa. Tim Wallace-Murphy shows how over the last century it was European Western Powers who laid the foundations for the chaos that reigns in the Middle East. We need to find a just and equitable solution to these problems and we should begin by acknowledging our common spiritual heritage and the profound debt that Western civilization owes to Islamic culture.

The history of Islam as the faith of God has been buried and lost to antiquity, but the message in the Quran has been gaining renewed visibility as both a very negative and as a positive influence.
In spite of its growing visibility, there are baffling issues, as with all “religions”, whether the individual, in reality, adheres to the tenets of the Quran and the Faith. There is clearly a phenomenal misunderstanding prevalent about Islam and the Quran.
The author undertook a serious study of the Quran over several years and dispassionately stresses the importance and relevance of the text to contemporary times where heated arguments persist as to which is the “'better”/true religion.
The author presents direct quotes from the Quran and provides explanations thereof based on textual commentaries and her personal understanding with the sincere hope that those who are interested in knowing the basic facts in the Quran get a clearer understanding of this preserved word of God.

For years, international apologist Josh McDowell has been alert to the challenge of Islam—and how Muslims’ objections to Christianity can raise deep doubts in believers’ minds. His recent on-the-ground research with Muslims in the Middle East has crystallized into this practical resource focusing on Jesus and the gospel. Aided by Islam expert Jim Walker, McDowell lays out the evidence on the crucial issues: What kind of prophet was Jesus? Was he the Messiah? “Son of God”? “Son of Man”? What’s that about? How are God and Jesus related? Can they both be God? The gospel—how could God dishonor his Son by letting him die horribly? What good did his death do? Aren’t the Bible’s accounts of Jesus corrupt? With all this, as well as backgrounder appendixes on the basics, believers will have authoritative evidence from Scripture and history to intelligently deal with Muslims’ questions about and challenges to Christianity.

This book is a thought provoking challenge for the Believer of their accepted faith. The mass majority of the world believes in a Higher Being but that Being is viewed and worshiped in various different ways. The author delves into an intelligent discussion regarding belief systems; Why do we believe in the faith that we follow? What influence made us followers of Christianity, Judaism or Islam ,or even adopting the choice of atheism or agnosticism. Focusing on the three Major Abrahamic Religions, he pushes the reader to reason, critically think and question their belief system. Is Jesus Christ God or the son of God? Is he believed to be the false Messiah like those who follow Judaism? Did He die for our sins like the Christians believe, and is the Prophet Muhammad the last and final Prophet like the belief of the Muslims; or is he the anti-christ like the world of Christianity depicts him to be? The once Christian, then agnostic and now Muslim convert, takes us through his journey of comparative religion and final acceptance of Islam.

History indicates that Islam spread in its early times throughout Asia, Africa, and Europe very rapidly. Probably no other religion spread throughout the world as fast as Islam did. It is an undeniable fact that the Quran is a living book that has influenced millions of people through its beauty and style. The superiority of the Quranic discourse was, and still is, challenging. But Islam lovers do not give importance to the value of science and modern education. But still, people of third-world countries do not try to understand what actually Islam is. It is not even translated in Quran! The Quran deals with both positive and negative issues. Many Muslims hold a different view about Islam, some positive and some negative. That’s why they easily get puzzled and can’t take a proper decision. My intent is not to harm Islam in any way but to encourage more critical thinking using reason and logic. It’s the accepting of ideas hammered into your head from childhood without critically examining those ideas with an adult mind. It’s the idea of being so committed to something being true; one loses all ability to reason and think logically. My goal for this book is to make you think about certain ideas harder than you ever did before. I want to make you question your own beliefs and think about how you came to hold those beliefs in the first place. I want you to challenge any of my ideas that do not make sense to you or ideas with which you disagree. I am simply going back to the very beginning (literally) and critically examine some of the more universally accepted beliefs that we hold today. As you follow me on this journey, it’s my hope that you will see that the idea of divine revelation may just be a lot more human than divine.
