This volume is the proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on the Mathematical Foundations of Programming Semantics, held in New Orleans in April 1993. The focus of the conference series is the semantics of programming languages and the mathematics which supports the study of the semantics. The semantics is basically denotation. Th eological studies from various seminaries and a Masters Degree in Mass Communications from the University of Minnesota prepared her for service as Steward of Communications for the Minnesota Annual Conference United Methodist Church before moving to Durango, Colorado in 2001. Mary enjoys inventing characters for fantasy adventures, and she has honed her skills in writing childrens stories and poems as well as movie and television scripts for children as she reared her two daughters, Erin and Alison.
