The Cost of Disobedience, is designed to give us an understanding about how God feels about his instructions, and how important it is for us to obey them. However, this topic is a sensitive subject to talk about, and is directed to every human being, especially those who believe and has a relationship with the Lord Almighty. This subject is sensitive because we can't blame or look to anybody but ourselves in regards to our choices. No one can obey God for us, it is something we have to do deal with individually. It is also the very thing that we can hide from other's and appear as if we are pleasing God completely. None of us want to hear that we are being disobedient to anything, and or anybody especially God. However, obeying God is something we need to hear and be reminded to do, since disobedience appears as a silent blessing stealer; and is the core reason why so many of us have not received our promises, even though we are doing a lot of things God has instructed us to do as believers. Remember obedience is better than sacrifice. This book is not designed to condemn us but to give us knowledge about God, and truth about the consequences of our disobedience towards God. God wants us to walk away after reading this book with a strong desire and drive to obey him, so we can receive everything he has promised. God said if we love him, then we should follow his commands. So obeying God is even an act of worship and reverence to God. It shows God, and proves to ourselves that we truly love him. God wants us to always know that he loves us, he is our father, and anything he ask of us is for our benefit. God not only instructs us, but he helps us, we don't have to do it alone, and apart frm God we won't beable to obey him, and be the person he has designed us to be.

Disobey written by Frederic Gros and has been published by Verso Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-05-19 with Political Science categories.

Exploring the philosophy of disobedience The world is out of joint, so much so that disobeying should be an urgent question for everyone. In this provocative essay, Frédéric Gros explores the roots of political obedience. Social conformity, economic subjection, respect for authorities, constitutional consensus? Examining the various styles of obedience provides tools to study, invent and induce new forms of civic disobedience and lyrical protest. Nothing can be taken for granted: neither supposed certainties nor social conventions, economic injustice or moral conviction. Thinking philosophically requires us never to accept truths and generalities that seem obvious. It restores a sense of political responsibility. At a time when the decisions of experts are presented as the result of icy statistics and anonymous calculations, disobeying becomes an assertion of humanity. To philosophize is to disobey. This book is a call for critical democracy and ethical resistance.

Discretion To Disobey written by Mortimer R. Kadish and has been published by Quid Pro Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-01-06 with Law categories.

Beyond civil disobedience and the citizen's power to protest and defy law, this book looks at rule departures actually sanctioned by law. This acclaimed study by philosophy professor Mortimer Kadish and law professor Sanford Kadish is a truly interdisciplinary inquiry into the idea of departing from the strict letter of the law in a way that, they argue, actually comports with both law and morality. An instant classic and source of debate when first published by Stanford University Press in 1973, this book still resonates on questions of rule violations for the greater good, jury nullification, police and prosecutor discretion not to arrest or charge, civil disobedience, and the very concept of rules. Both citizens and government actors, they write, hold the power and the right to deviate from law in certain contexts and yet not act illegally in a sense -- because law itself contains strands of adaptations to its own departures that the authors weave into a sustained jurisprudential point. As one reviewer soon wrote, "the paradoxical idea that a citizen or official may lawfully break the law" will surely "raise the hackles" of any legal positivist. Yet it remains a challenging idea well worth considering. This book, despite its reputation in the fields of law and philosophy, is actually accessible to fields and scholars beyond, and to citizens who are finding their rightful place among the powers of governmental institutions.Part of the Classics of Law & Society Series from Quid Pro, includes 2010 Notes by the series editor and is available in new high-quality digital formats as well.

We often think of the army as an institution whose members are required to blindly obey all orders they receive. However, this perception is inaccurate. Disobedience is a fundamental professional obligation of members of the military and overrides the obligation to follow commands. But what is the extent of this obligation? Are soldiers obligated to participate in what they consider to be an illegal war, or should they be allowed to enjoy a right to selective conscientious objection? Should soldiers obey a legal order that, if followed, would facilitate the perpetration of war crimes by a third party? How should soldiers act if they are ordered to follow a lawful order that could result in immoral consequences? Should soldiers be allowed to refuse to obey what can be labeled as suicidal orders? Based upon the nature of soldiers’ professional obligations, this book tries to offer answers to these important questions. The author turns to a number of different case-studies, including conscientious objections, duty to protect in genocidal situations such as Rwanda and Srebrenica, suicidal orders in wars, as well as retribution and leniency towards war criminals, as a way of assessing the different legal and ethical implications of disobedience in the military.

Intelligent Disobedience written by Ira Chaleff and has been published by Berrett-Koehler Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-07-07 with Business & Economics categories.

Torture in Abu Ghraib prison. Corporate fraud. Falsified records at Veterans Administration hospitals. Teachers pressured to feed test answers to students. These scandals could have been prevented if, early on, people had said no to their higher-ups. Ira Chaleff discusses when and how to disobey inappropriate orders, reduce unacceptable risk, and find better ways to achieve legitimate goals. He delves into the psychological dynamics of obedience, drawing in particular on what Stanley Milgram's seminal Yale experiments-in which volunteers were induced to administer shocks to innocent people-teach us about how to reduce compliance with harmful orders. Using vivid examples of historical events and everyday situations, he offers advice on judging whether intelligent disobedience is called for, how to express opposition, and how to create a culture where citizens are educated and encouraged to think about whether orders make sense. --

Radical written by David Platt and has been published by Multnomah this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-05-04 with Religion categories.

New York Times bestseller What is Jesus worth to you? It's easy for American Christians to forget how Jesus said his followers would actually live, what their new lifestyle would actually look like. They would, he said, leave behind security, money, convenience, even family for him. They would abandon everything for the gospel. They would take up their crosses daily... But who do you know who lives like that? Do you? In Radical, David Platt challenges you to consider with an open heart how we have manipulated the gospel to fit our cultural preferences. He shows what Jesus actually said about being his disciple--then invites you to believe and obey what you have heard. And he tells the dramatic story of what is happening as a "successful" suburban church decides to get serious about the gospel according to Jesus. Finally, he urges you to join in The Radical Experiment -- a one-year journey in authentic discipleship that will transform how you live in a world that desperately needs the Good News Jesus came to bring.
