Who In The Zoo Are You written by Ken Willidau and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-05 with Fiction categories.

Written for people who feel penned in, themselves, by being what's expected of them to be and not what they should really be free to be, Who in the Zoo are You? contains more than 2,500 jokes and one-liners that offers readers the chance to see what lies behind the bars that we all have to live behind in order to survive in the zoo. From an animal's camouflage to a colourful flower's alluring scent planet Earth, itself, is a liar to us all. So, why wouldn't people exhibit the behaviours that they have to show to get what they want and need, too? What exactly are you a human being? Willidau finds it confining surviving in the zoo, looking at life free on the inside, for himself, and living a look locked up on the outside for others. So, he decided to venture out and see how all the other animals cope with the stresses of living in a virtual prison, themselves. Ken Willidau's philosophy is that if you're going to live a life inside-out you might as well let the outside in so you'll know why you are what you have to be on the outside, yourself, to adapt to it. By the end of the visit you will see that you've always been living in the zoo and you're your own exhibit, for others to view, too. Chapters tour behind-the-scenes at the zoo to give people thoughts on how they can fit in if they restrict themselves to fitting in and nothing else. Among them, 'A Social Butterfly', 'Frisky as a Bunny', 'Bats in the Belfry', 'Lazy as a Sloth', 'Drunk as a Skunk' and 'A Starfish is Born'. The day is spent with Willidau letting loose jokes using wit, dark humour, twisted logic, three secrets he knows about you, plays on words and double entendre humour. Spending your time with Ken will be a barrel of laughs if you're monkey see, monkey do, too. Who in the Zoo are You? is a perfect read for those times when you think you think you're living in a zoo and you'd be better, yourself, if you got to know who your own predators and prey are, now, to survive it.

As morning dawns, the zookeeper makes his rounds, exhorting animals to wake up, comb their hair, and stand up straight. When human visitors arrive, the observations begin to flow: "My, what silly things they do, all these creatures at the zoo. Walking on all kinds of feet, dancing to an inner beat. Babies riding on their backs, on their bellies, snug in sacks. Hear the silly sounds they speak, as they howl and squawk and shriek!" But just who is talking about whom? With a clever twist and a new, sturdy board book format, this book will have even the youngest children begging for a trip to the zoo.

Why Do We Go To The Zoo written by Erik A. Garrett and has been published by Rowman & Littlefield this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-05 with Philosophy categories.

Despite hundreds of millions of visitors each year, zoos have remained outside of the realm of philosophical analysis. This lack of theoretical examination is interesting considering the paradoxical position within which a zoo is situated, being a space of animal confinement as well as a site that provides valuable tools for species conservation, public education, and entertainment. Why Do We Go to the Zoo? argues that the zoo is a legitimate space of academic inquiry. The modes of communication taking place at the zoo that keep drawing us back time and time again beg for a careful investigation. In this book, the meaning of the zoo as communicative space is explored. This book relies on the phenomenological method from Edmund Husserl and a rhetorical approach to examine the interaction between people and animals in the zoo space. Phenomenology, the philosophy of examining the engaged everyday lived experience, is a natural method to use in the project. Despite its rich history and tradition it is interesting that there are very few books explaining “how to do” phenomenology. Why Do We Go to the Zoo? provides a detailed account of how to actually conduct a phenomenological analysis. The author spent thousands of hours in zoos watching people and animals interact as well as talking with people both formally and informally. This book asks readers to bracket their preconceptions of what goes on in the zoo and, instead, to explore the meaning of powerful zoo experiences while reminding us of the troubled history of zoos.
