The question “Why did God create viruses, bacteria, pathogens, venomous creatures and poisonous chemicals is usually asked by irreligious skeptics to challenge God’s authority, design, and goodness. It is also asked by those of faith, either out of innocent ignorance or curiosity. Life per se is a balance of life-forms co-existing because they were created by God by means of obvious intelligent design. The authors show the vast majority of bacteria, viruses, and insects are beneficial. The reason some pathogens are harmful is discussed in some detail. Furthermore, the role of toxic chemicals, which are beneficial and even essential to human and animal life at low to moderate concentrations is also covered. The authors’ conclusions are well-documented by several hundred peer-reviewed scholarly articles and books. if you have ever wondered about why in God’s creation there are “parasites and pathogens,” “ticks and toxins,” “maladies and mosquitoes,” then you owe it to yourself to consider the scholarly explanations that set the record straight—the professional perspective of Bergman and Hoff. If you are looking for sound scientific answers to the question “Why did God create life-forms that have harmful side-effects to other organisms?,” this is the book to read.

The enormous amount of literature on the Scopes Trial focuses on the religious elements of the trial. It almost totally ignored the importance of racism as taught in the text that Scopes used to teach biology. Bryan was not concerned about evolution in general, but specifically human evolution. He believed that Darwin's theory, as applied to humans, encouraged the oppression of certain oppressed groups. Taking evolution's philosophy to its logical conclusion meant justifying "survival of the fittest" in social matters. This philosophy he learned from his extensive reading about WWI was a major factor influencing the Germans to fight in the first World War. Furthermore, Bryan believed the citizens of Tennessee had a right to determine what their children were taught in the public schools. Another fact that is rarely mentioned is the main fossil evidence cited in the trial documents, and the press, in support of human evolution has been discredited by evolutionists including Neanderthal man, Piltdown man, Java man, and Nebraska man. Scopes was not a biology teacher, but rather taught math. His college degree was not in biology, but law. He was not put on the stand to testify in his trial, probably because he never taught evolution and could not honestly answer questions about teaching it. This book covers the so-called trial of the century, telling the real story of a sham brought on by the ACLU to further their political and anti-Christian goals.

Keagan was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of twenty-one months. The instant we received this devastating news, our lives changed instantly and forever. Shortly after Keagans diagnosis, I pondered the idea of writing a book, as I wanted to share our story with the world. My intention behind this idea was to provide insight or guidance to anyone who had even been in a similar situation. Most importantly, I wanted to share our ongoing journey with God, as we took Him into our lives. God carried us through our sorrow and pain, and He provided comfort and peace to our breaking hearts. With God in our lives, we were able to maintain peace of mind, regardless of the final outcome.

As the world waits in fear, the CDC and world health organizations race to minimize the current pandemic — a looming threat that has forced international, federal, and local governments to deal with COVID19 and other future epidemics, and the widespread death and devastation which would follow. Will the world find the answers in time? Or will we see a deadly threat ravage populations as others have before in 1918 with influenza, in the late 18th century with yellow fever, or the horrific “black death” or bubonic plague in 1347 AD? Are these [viruses] examples of evolution? ...Did God make microbes by mistake? Are they accidents of evolution, out of the primordial soup? These timely questions are examined throughout this book. -from chapter 1 It seems that a new and more terrible disease is touted on the news almost daily. The spread of these scary diseases from avian flu to SARS to AIDS is a cause for concern and leads to questions, such as: Where did all these germs come from? How do they fit into a biblical world view? What kind of function did these microbes have before the Fall? Does antibiotic resistance in bacteria prove evolution? How can something so small have such a huge, deadly impact on the world around us? Professor Alan Gillen sheds light on these and many other questions in this revealing and detailed book. He shows how these constantly mutating diseases are proof for devolution rather than evolution and how all of these germs fit into a biblical world view. Dr. Gillen shows how germs are symptomatic of the literal Fall and Curse of creation as a result of man's sin, and the hope we have in the coming of Jesus Christ.

In the restless heart of Austin, Texas, where suffocating heat darkly complements the stifling societal pressures of 2034, 23-year-old Rose Rulapaugh fights life's harsh realities with the only defense she has left - snarky cynicism. Shattered dreams and lethargy line her path: a high school pregnancy ending in tragedy; a promising education never pursued. Five years, languishing on the couch, perusing socials. Her burdens are quickly multiplying. Mom's medical condition is deteriorating. Younger brother Jack is tripping down Dad's path of irresponsibility. With this cascade of pressures, Rose wonders if her alien dream visits are a sign of eroding mental stability. Then a hurricane sets off local tornados, destroying the family's duplex and swamping Austin with coastal immigrants. Forced to find shelter, luck finally befalls her in a chance run-in with Tyren, a genetic engineering postdoc working a secret project. He offers lodging and promises to help Rose achieve her dream of resurrecting an ancient Shasta Ground Sloth. But every silver lining has its clouds, right? Dr. Amy Lee, Tyren's boss, grants Rose a no-questions-asked job at her genetics company, then thrashes the girl mercilessly for potentially catastrophic errors. More clouds? Despite venting five years of pent-up anger in Tyren's willing ear, they're growing closer. Given her bloody history with the state's punitive laws, however, a 'normal' relationship will never be possible. Troubles heaped on troubles? If it wasn't for that gnawing discomfort of avoidance, it might be easier to forget this new life and return to the couch. PREDICTABLE PATHS episodes, in sequential order: 1. Environmental Health Ethics illuminates the conflicts between protecting the environment and promoting human health. In this study, David B. Resnik develops a method for making ethical decisions on environmental health issues. He applies this method to various issues, including pesticide use, antibiotic resistance, nutrition policy, vegetarianism, urban development, occupational safety, disaster preparedness, and global climate change. Resnik provides readers with the scientific and technical background necessary to understand these issues. He explains that environmental health controversies cannot simply be reduced to humanity versus environment and explores the ways in which human values and concerns - health, economic development, rights, and justice - interact with environmental protection.

Altering God's Design by Dr. Abri Brancken (Ph.D) addresses the importance of upholding Biblical morals and ethics relating to the alteration and modification of plant, animal and human life on planet earth through the use of GRIN Technologies. Special attention is given to the ethics of creating "new species" of life by blending human and animal cells through genetic engineering. This book is an eye opener to those who are unaware of the fact that the very existence of humanity is under threat due to dangerous alterations that are being made to the human genetic structure in laboratories around the world. At this very moment in time a number of the GRIN Technologies are being used with the purpose to 'redesign' ourselves as humans into a new version, Humans 2.0. The truth is that we are rapidly progressing towards a "New Era" in the course of human history, one that might not be as perfect as we would want it to be.

The purpose of this compilation of dissertations is to provide the author’s interpretive theology of Sacred Scripture. This volume is called Developing a Cosmic Ideology Based on Holy Scripture because it is all encompassing, dealing with the topics of the realm of spirit and the realm of matter. The topics covered under the realm of spirit include the LORD (Yahweh) God and the invisible world of heaven; the realm of matter is the material created universe, including humanity, the earth, and all creation, its purpose and future. This volume will answer the question as to why there is something instead of nothing, and why there is creation, time, life, and infinity, all evolving from the concept that God is love.
