WHY HUMAN LIFE IS ULTIMATELY A DREAM is a book that is born not out of mere imaginations and figments of thought but of a powerful dream inspiration which the author took cognizance of its value for clarifying thought on the mystery of life and death. The book responds to many powers that have eluded the attempt of philosophers to give satisfactory answers to, such as posers on the meaning of life, the reality of death, the actuality of life-after-death, the ultimate fulfillment of the destiny of the human person, the nature of the human person, the relationship of the human reality to the ultimate reality, and the veritable relationship between humanity and divinity in the various phases of human experiences on earth, especially with the experience of evil in the world. The language of the book is simple for the understanding of all and sundry except in special cases for the uneducated that may require another version of this book. This book will serve the good purpose of enlightenment to anyone who peruses it with enthusiasm and an unbiased mindset. So the author recommends it for all and sundry as it is sensitive to all currents of beliefs and thought without religious bias. It is a book for you to understand and appreciate your life, personage, activities, hopes and aspirations as human being created in Gods image and likeness. The authors own life-experience provides a platform for situating the new portrait of life and death which the author paints with this work in various contexts of human experiences whether good or bad. So this work is a life companion for all and sundry and is anticipated to stand the test of time.

Americans have built an empire on the idea of “race,” a falsehood that damages us all but falls most heavily on the bodies of black women and men—bodies exploited through slavery and segregation, and, today, threatened, locked up, and murdered out of all proportion. What is it like to inhabit a black body and find a way to live within it? And how can we all honestly reckon with this fraught history and free ourselves from its burden? Between the World and Me is Ta-Nehisi Coates’s attempt to answer these questions in a letter to his adolescent son. Coates shares with his son—and readers—the story of his awakening to the truth about his place in the world through a series of revelatory experiences, from Howard University to Civil War battlefields, from the South Side of Chicago to Paris, from his childhood home to the living rooms of mothers whose children’s lives were taken as American plunder. Beautifully woven from personal narrative, reimagined history, and fresh, emotionally charged reportage, Between the World and Me clearly illuminates the past, bracingly confronts our present, and offers a transcendent vision for a way forward.

The Radical Insufficiency Of Human Life written by Aileen Dever and has been published by McFarland this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000-01-01 with Literary Criticism categories.

The postromantic works of the Spaniard Rosalía de Castro and the Colombian José Asunción Silva are indispensable in any anthology of 19th century Spanish and Latin American poetry. However, they found few appreciative readers during their lifetimes, even while displaying two of the most sincere voices of the day. Dever's book is unique: it is the first comparison of Castro's and Silva's poetry. Their works have meaningful differences but share remarkable likenesses in theme, tone, and style, though it is doubtful that either was aware of the other's existence. Of interest to feminist critics is an interpretation of Castro's literary vocation within a patriarchal society. Using the ideas of three 20th century Spanish thinkers, José Ortega y Gasset, Xavier Zubiri, and Pedro Laín Entralgo, Dever applies the concept of radical insufficiency to a comparison of the poets' works. Radical insufficiency holds that humans lack a determined being and fixed course for life, thus norms are not available to make the world intelligible. Humans experience feelings of uncertainty and emptiness, which inevitably lead to anxiety. Confronted by the mystery and pathos of human life, Castro and Silva both describe futile attempts to overcome this insufficiency through creation and contemplation of art, human relationships, and religion. The significance of these writers has transcended their own time; when examined in the context of Spanish and Latin American authors and thinkers who succeeded them, the importance of their works will continue to grow.

"When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on."Franklin D. RooseveltI've been hanging onto my knot-filled rope for what seems forever. Is there room for one more knot? I doubt it. Eating disorders and mental illness, in general, do that to you, secretly tearing you apart from the core until there's no vision left. 2019 was to mark the start of my recovery from a long-term eating disorder. It was to be a new beginning. With the help of a newly-found passion, photography, my inner knotted rope was unravelling, clearing the way for embracing new opportunities now and in the future. I had much to look forward to. Plans were big for 2020, but the year had hardly started when COVID-19 spread throughout the world. I'm Sam; I live in Geelong, a beautiful city within Victoria, Australia, and this feeling of hanging on is nothing new. Maybe you feel you have been hanging on for most of your life, too. The universe certainly did that for all of us in 2020. This book is a real-life story and pictorial account of survival and resilience, about that year. Resilience is a roadmap chronicling my journey through 2020, holding onto that rope and hoping for a miracle. While I have written and photographed the story from my family's perspective, it's relevant for all. We each have our own story of struggle and, together, our stories reflect the experiences of our greater society. Many of us have surprised ourselves with our ability to hold onto our rope through the really tough times and bounce back.Resilience is about adjusting our vision and nurturing self in a challenging year. Go ahead, give yourself a well-deserved hug! You deserve it.

This collection of interviews explores how the Chinese Dream is fueling the aspirations of individuals in China today and presents 40 representative cases that showcase the journeys that ordinary people undertake in pursuit of their dreams as well as their extraordinary achievements. The authors identify autonomy, self-awareness, and hard work as the most fundamental driving forces in individuals taking control of their own lives and achieving their dreams, with family and social support as further important factors. Despite the vast differences in the interviewees’ dreams and experiences in pursuing them, there is a common thread in their stories, namely the impact of major changes in the country on their lives. The future of individuals is closely linked to the future of the country: a bright future for the country means a good life for all. People’s longing for a better life is the basis and a central element of the Chinese Dream, which is the dream of the nation and the dream of every citizen. This book will appeal to a wide audience, including ordinary people.

In Classical Individualism, Tibor R. Machan argues that individualism is far from being dead. Machan identifies, develops and defends what he calls classical individualism - an individualism humanised by classical philosophy, rooted in Aristotle rather than Hobbes. This book does not reject the social nature of human beings, but finds that every one has a self-directed agent who is responsible for what he or she does. Machan rejects all types of collectivism, including communitarianism, ethnic solidarity, racial unity, and gender identity. The ideas expressed here have important social and political implications, and will be of interest to anyone concerned with the notion of individuality and individual responsibility.
