Excerpt from Why We Behave Like Human Beings By complete I mean comprehensive. This is the most comprehensive account of human beings that I know of. It is as up-to-date as I can make it. It moves as fast as I can make it, and avoids blind alleys which lead nowhere. It does touch many problems not yet solved or only partially guessed at; its handling of such problems is as sound and sane as I can make it with the help of many friends. This does not commit them for my errors of omission and com mission, nor lessen my responsibility for statements of fact or inferences from facts and hypotheses - nor signify that they approve an anthropologist's use of their materials for his story. A Conceptual Analytic Study Of Classical Indian Philosophy Of Morals written by Rajendra Prasad and has been published by Concept Publishing Company this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008 with Ethics categories.

Using recontructive ideas available in classical Indian original works, this book makes a departure in the style of modern writings on Indian moral philosophy. It presents Indian ethics, in an objective, secular, and wherever necessary, critical manner as a systematic, down-to-earth, philosophical account of moral values, virtues, rights and obligations. It thereby refutes the claim that Indian philosophy has no ethics as well as the counter-claim that it transcends ethics. It demonstrates that moral living proves that the individual, his society and the world are really real and not only taken to be real for behavioral purposes as the Advaitins hold, the self is amoral being a non-agent, moksa is not a moral value, and the Karmic theory, because of involving belief in rebirth, does not fuarantee that the doer of an action is also the experiencer of its results, contrary to what is commonly held, and Indian ethics can sustain itself even if such notions are dropped. Rajendra Prasad calls Indian ethics organismic because, along with ethical concerns, it also covers issues related to professions, politics, administration, sex, environment, etc. Therefore, in one format it is theoretical and applied, normative and metaethical, humanistic and non-humanistic, etc., of course, within the limits of the then cognitive enquiry.

Starting with evolutionary biology and what it physically means to be a human being, this book moves on to include a wide range of topics such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality and how we are evolving as we interact with new technology. There will be sections on how we perceive the world, such as why our brains - rather than our senses - can tell us about the world around us; crowd behaviour and more everyday things we can relate to, such as why your queue is mathematically proven to always be slower. The Science of Being Human explains all these human phenomena and how science, maths, psychology and other disciplines play their part.

Excerpt from Collective Behavior During the decade and a half since it was taken off an airy diet Of instincts and put on a nourishing diet Of factual data, social psychology has been the child prodigy and the problem. Child Of the social sciences. Growing awkwardly and sometimes randomly, but always growing at a tremendous. Rate, it was bold and meek by turns. Roundly cursed by some for the havoc its virile concepts caused in the elder disciplines, it was just as roundly praised by others for What it contributed to these disciplines. Social psychology still retains its youthful vigor, but it has now passed its troubled adolescence and has arrived at a mature understanding of its phenomena. That understanding, briefly stated, is that the personality Of the human being is acquired in the course Of social interactions with other human beings.
