Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Ethnologie / Volkskunde, Universität Zürich (Ethnologie), Veranstaltung: Anthropologie der Macht, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der sich anschliessenden Seminararbeit soll gezeigt werden, wie Macht und Widerstand untrennbar mit einander verbunden zu sein scheinen. Das eine kann nicht ohne das andere existieren – diese These gilt es zu belegen. Dabei wird der Schwerpunkt auf Widerstand, der seinen Ausdruck im Alltag findet, liegen. Organisierter Widerstand tritt in diesem Text in den Hintergrund. Macht und Widerstand sind Begriffe, welche sich nicht eindeutig definieren lassen. In der Soziologie, Ethnologie, der Politologie und in anderen Wissenschaften existieren dennoch Definitionen, welche ich kurz anführen möchte, um zu zeigen, welche Bedeutungen die Begriffe jeweils annehmen können. Ich werde dabei vor allem Definitionen berücksichtigen, welche hilfreich für die spätere Analyse erscheinen. Die gesamte Fülle der existierenden Definitionen auszuschöpfen, wäre wenig hilfreich und würde lediglich für Verwirrung sorgen. Anschliessend möchte ich die Vernetzung von Macht und Widerstand näher beleuchten. Alltagswiderstand äussert sich auf verschiedene Arten, die ich darstellen möchte. Er tritt in unterschiedlichen Situationen auf und verfolgt verschiedene Intentionen und Ziele. Um nicht lediglich der Theorie gerecht zu werden, werde ich mich auf unterschiedliche Fallbeispiele (James Scott, Lila Abu-Lughod, Kerkvliet, Hegland) beziehen. Dies soll der Veranschaulichung dienen, da Alltagswiderstand nicht einer bestimmten Theorie folgt, sondern reell in der Praxis – im alltäglichen Leben - anzutreffen ist. Gesondert möchte ich auf James Scotts Unterscheidung zwischen Hidden und Public Transcript eingehen. Er prägte mit den Ausdrücken Hidden Transcript und Public Transcript eine besondere Form des linguistischen Widerstandes. Bereits andere Forscher und Wissenschaftler haben sein Konzept der Dichotomie von Hidden und Public Transcript aufgegriffen. Auch an dieser Stelle möchte ich die Theorie durch konkrete Beispiele untermauern. Nachdem die verschiedenen Formen des Widerstandes und die verschiedenen Situationen, in denen er zu Tage tritt analysiert wurden, gilt es die Wirkungen, welche Alltagswiderstand nach sich ziehen kann, zu berücksichtigen. Alltagswiderstand kann – wie organisierter Widerstand – aus verschiedenen Motivationen heraus entstehen, und sich auch in seinen Effekten und Auswirkungen vielfältig gestalten. Durch die Analyse sollen die erzielten Ergebnisse auch in der weiteren Arbeit und Forschung mit dem Thema Macht Verwendung finden. [...]

Josua und Salomo puts forward the thesis that the literary figure of the successor was created by circles who strongly relied on the book of Deuteronomy. In order to construct the ideal of a successor they used the characters of Joshua and Solomon and implemented the results of their theological reflection which were unleashed by the complete destruction of the pre-exilic political, social and religious organization of the nation. The figure of Joshua combines all the treats of their theological conception of an ideal political leader, whereas the figure of Solomon demonstrates the dangers which are implied in monarchical succession. From the theological perspective of deuteronomism “Solomon” and “Joshua” are opposite characters. The deuteronomic concepts of God and authority play a central role for the reflection on both characters.

Relating the Holocaust to poetic and aesthetic phenomena has often been considered taboo, as only authentic testimony, documents, or at least ‘unliterary’, prosaic approaches were seen as appropriate. However, from the very beginning of Holocaust literature and culture, there were tendencies towards literarization, poetization, and ornamentalization. Nowadays, aesthetic approaches—also in provocative, taboo-breaking ways—are more and more frequently encountered and seen as important ways to evoke the attention required to keep the cataclysm alive in popular memory. The essays in this volume use examples predominantly from Polish, Czech, and German Holocaust literature and culture to discuss this controversial subject.
