AWARD WINNER! Book of the Year Awards 2003 BRONZE MEDAL IN THE FANTASY/SCI-FI CATEGORY Of another time and place, WILLSTORM-Quest for Union chronicles the lives of the thousands of worshippers aboard the wandering temple dome, the Carnate of Mygda. Ruled by a council of 12 prelates, the mobile temple dome rumbles like a massive tank across the countryside in its age-old search for Union, a final, undefined, mystical merging with the godhead known only as Mygda. Bral, the acolyte of Yano, Primate of the Wardens of Disaster, has known the temple since the earliest days of his youth when the temple was temporarily landlocked in a narrow gorge at the edge of his village. Now at young manhood, Bral strives to quiet the religious doubts which rage within him as he also struggles first to save a young woman being offered as sacrifice to the godhead, Mygda, and eventually to defend himself against charges of blasphemy and sacrilege. Found guilty, he is sentenced to a deathwalk, leading the temple across the arid plains until he falls beneath its tractor drives. Strange powers in the Orb of Union, the glowing artifact which dates from the earliest history of Mygda, endows Ikol, an itinerant huckster and thief, with the divine power of Mygda. Ikol becomes an anointed one and assumes control of the ruling council as the 13th Primate, the Warden of Willstorm. He will unleash the Great Calamity which is foretold as the preface to the event of Final Union. Amid the violence and religious fanaticism, the love between Bral and Pylar struggles to express itself. Religious faith must be renewed or abandoned, and either course tested in battle. Both a prequel and a sequel to WILLSTORM are in work.

The Hurricane Notebook written by Elizabeth M and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-12-17 with Philosophy categories.

"No lies" The Hurricane Notebook, found on a Wilmington beach after a storm, contains the thoughts, artistic experiments, vignettes, and recorded dialogues of an unknown author calling herself "Elizabeth M." Its entries record the inner life of a soul in crisis, perpetually returning to the moment she learned of her sister's suicide and making an unrelenting attempt to understand herself and the human condition. Whether engaged in introspective soul-searching, or reconstructing her discussions with friends, mentors, and acquaintances, she challenges herself to accept "No lies" that would mask or hide her own responsibility for evil in the world. The notebook ends abruptly; having traversed subjects as diverse as God, childhood, chess, philosophy, ballet, self-hood, conscience, guilt, and friendship, Elizabeth's questions are left uncertain and hanging in the air, just like her hope that she might find "one person on earth who understands me," and unanswered, like her plea "Having understood me, would you grieve on my behalf, my friend?"

Everything stays the same for the tenants of The Beresford, a grand old apartment building just outside the city ... until the doorbell rings... Will Carver returns with an eerie, deliciously and uncomfortably dark standalone thriller. 'A gripping novel laced with humour and cutting character insight ... a thrill from start to finish. Expect the unexpected!' Sarah Pinborough 'Equally enthralling and appalling ... unlike anything I've read in a very long while' James Oswald 'Ridiculously addictive' S J Watson _______________ Just outside the city – any city, every city – is a grand, spacious but affordable apartment building called The Beresford. There's a routine at The Beresford. For Mrs May, every day's the same: a cup of cold, black coffee in the morning, pruning roses, checking on her tenants, wine, prayer and an afternoon nap. She never leaves the building. Abe Schwartz also lives at The Beresford. His housemate, Sythe, no longer does. Because Abe just killed him. In exactly sixty seconds, Blair Conroy will ring the doorbell to her new home and Abe will answer the door. They will become friends. Perhaps lovers. And, when the time comes for one of them to die, as is always the case at The Beresford, there will be sixty seconds to move the body before the next unknowing soul arrives at the door. Because nothing changes at The Beresford, until the doorbell rings... Eerie, dark, superbly twisted and majestically plotted, The Beresford is the stunning standalone thriller from one of crime fiction's most exciting names. _______________ 'Creepy and brilliant' Khurrum Rahman 'Reminiscent of The Shining ... a creeping and perfectly crafted novel tinged with dark humour and malice' Victoria Selman 'A masterfully macabre tale' Louise Mumford 'I stepped into the imagination of Will Carver and it swallowed me whole' Matt Wesolowski 'Magnificently, compulsively chilling' Margaret Kirk 'Fans of Chuck Palahniuk will adore Carver ... he is utterly brilliant' Christopher Hooley 'Devilishly dark and maniacally brilliant' Raven Crime Reads 'Slick, stylish ... a sharply crafted and delectable slice of entertaining darkness' The Tattooed Book Geek 'Intense, brilliant, horrific, humorous and everything in between' Liz Loves Books
