Bei einer intensiveren Beschäftigung mit psychologischen und sozialwissen schaftliehen Fragen kann der Wert der Wissenschafts-und Erkenntnistheorie nicht hoch genug eingeschätzt werden. Dieses Gebiet gilt allerdings zu Unrecht als trocken und langweilig. Da eine verständliche Einführung bislang fehlte, ha ben wir den Versuch unternommen, eine didaktisch aufbereitete Einführung zu verfassen, die an alltäglichen Erfahrungen anknüpft und daher auch für Laien bzw. Studienanfänger verständlich ist. Das vorliegende Buch ist für das Selbststudium konzipiert und aus der Lehr erfahrung an verschiedenen Hochschulen erwachsen. Es enthält Übungsaufga ben, Lösungshinweise dazu, Randbemerkungen und Stichworte am Rand zum Wiederfinden einzelner Textpassagen. Wir empfehlen, dieses Buch als Arbeits buch zu verwenden und keine Übungsaufgabe auszulassen. Es lohnt sich erfah rungsgemäß die Bildung von Arbeitsgemeinschaften. Einige der Übungsaufga ben setzen sogar die Arbeit in Gruppen voraus. Kapitel 1 und 2 wurden von Jürgen Kriz verfaßt, Kapitel 3 und 4 in enger Zu sammenarbeit von Helmut E. Lück und Horst Heidbrink. Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Allgemeines und Theorierichtungen, Note: 1,0, Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (Soziologie und empirische Sozialforschung), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Karl Popper hat mit seinen Erkenntnissen einen wesentlichen Beitrag für wissenschafltiche Erkenntnis in mehreren Disziplinen geliefert. «Seine Konzeption von Wissenschaft und Forschung hat das Selbstverständnis vieler Naturwissenschaften maßgeblich geprägt.» Zudem versteht Popper seine eigene Position als evolutionären Prozess der Forschung und der Wissenschaftsentwicklung, wodurch auch ein erheblicher Einfluss auf die evolutionäre Erkenntnistheorie stattgefunden hat. Durch die Positivismuskritik und seine Konzeption des kritischen Rationalismus hat er zur Begründung und Etablierung der Wissenschaftstheorie als eigenständige Disziplin unter den verschiedenen Wissenschaften beigetragen. Des weiteren hat der kritische Rationalismus das Verständnis und die Vorgehensweise von wissenschaftlicher Forschung beeinflusst. Die (kritische) Überprüfung von Theorien (bzw. Hypothesen) erscheint als plausibel, auch die vorläufige Akzeptanz von gewonnenen Erkenntnissen und deren mögliche Falsifikation zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt entspricht der Realität. Vielmehr jedoch stellt der kritische Rationalismus eine dynamische Forschungsmethodologie dar, die nach kontinuierlicher Verbesserung strebt, nicht zuletzt durch den Fallibilismus und der Methode von Versuch und Irrtum. Fallibilismus ist eine der Voraussetzungen, damit Falsifikationismus funktioniert. Dies gilt nicht nur für die Erkenntnis- und Wissenschaftsthoerie, sondern lässt sich auch auf die Sozialwissenschaften übertragen, die sich jedoch mit viel komplexeren Strukturen auseinandersetzen, aber im Grunde die Fehlbarkeit des Menschen (auch im wissenschaftlichen Bereich) widerspiegelt.
