Internet Of Things Based On Smart Objects written by Giancarlo Fortino and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-04-04 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The Internet of Things (IoT) usually refers to a world-wide network of interconnected heterogeneous objects (sensors, actuators, smart devices, smart objects, RFID, embedded computers, etc) uniquely addressable, based on standard communication protocols. Beyond such a definition, it is emerging a new definition of IoT seen as a loosely coupled, decentralized system of cooperating smart objects (SOs). A SO is an autonomous, physical digital object augmented with sensing/actuating, processing, storing, and networking capabilities. SOs are able to sense/actuate, store, and interpret information created within themselves and around the neighbouring external world where they are situated, act on their own, cooperate with each other, and exchange information with other kinds of electronic devices and human users. However, such SO-oriented IoT raises many in-the-small and in-the-large issues involving SO programming, IoT system architecture/middleware and methods/methodologies for the development of SO-based applications. This Book will specifically focus on exploring recent advances in architectures, algorithms, and applications for an Internet of Things based on Smart Objects. Topics appropriate for this Book include, but are not necessarily limited to: - Methods for SO development - IoT Networking - Middleware for SOs - Data Management for SOs - Service-oriented SOs - Agent-oriented SOs - Applications of SOs in Smart Environments: Smart Cities, Smart Health, Smart Buildings, etc. Advanced IoT Projects.

This excellent title introduces the concept of mission-oriented sensor networks as distributed dynamic systems of interacting sensing devices that are networked to jointly execute complex real-time missions under uncertainity. It provides the latest, yet unpublished results on the main technical and application challenges of mission-oriented sensor networks. The authors of each chapter are research leaders from multiple disciplines who are presenting their latest innovations on the issues. Together, the editors have compiled a comprehensive treatment of the subject that flows smoothly from chapter to chapter. This interdisciplinary approach significantly enhances the science and technology knowledge base and influences the military and civilian applications of this field. Author Information: Dr. Shashi Phoha is the Guest Editor of IEEE Transactions in Mobile Computing, Special Issue on Mission-Oriented Sensor Networks. She is the Head of the Information Sciences and Technology Division of ARL and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Pennsylvania State University. She has led major research programs of multimillion dollars for military sensor networks in industry as well as in academia. A Discourse On Winning And Losing written by John Boyd and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017 with Command of troops categories.

Boyd's initial focus was a 193 slide summation of military history in the "Patterns of Conflict" brief and his effort soon expanded dramatically. His insights led him to introduce the theory of maneuver warfare as critical to military success in general, as it had been for successful air-to-air tactics where his intellectual journey began. His study and thought led him to produce a series of other briefings. They included a 37 slide briefing entitled "An Organic Design for Command and Control," a 58-slide briefing entitled "The Strategic Game of ? and ?," a 27-slide briefing entitled "The Conceptual Spiral," and one of the few essays he ever wrote called "Destruction and Creation." The larger "Discourse" ends with his summation entitled "Revelation." To this is added a four slide brief on "The Essence of Winning and Losing" produced on 28 June 1995. It is an effort to compress all that he had learned into a simple, yet elegant and comprehensive, conclusion embedded in his concept of O-O-D-A Loops, what they mean and why they are important.--Provided by publisher.

Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks: Monitoring, Control and Automation explores the explosive growth that has occurred in the use of wireless sensor networks in a variety of applications during the last few years. As wireless technology can reduce costs, increase productivity, and ease maintenance, the book looks at the progress in standardization efforts regarding reliability, security, performance, power consumption, and integration. Early sections of the book discuss issues such as media access control (MAC), antenna design and site survey, energy harvesting, and explosion-proof design. Subsequent sections present WSN standards, including ISA100, ZigBeeT, WifiT, WirelessHARTT and 6loWPAN, and the applications of WSNs in the oil and gas, chemical, food, and nuclear power industries.
