Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2002 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Theorien, Modelle, Begriffe, Note: 2,0, Universität Siegen (Institut für Medienforschung), Veranstaltung: Einführung in den Medienstudiengang, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit behandelt die recht junge Theorie des Radikalen Konstruktivismus. Diese spezielle Art des konstruktivistischen Denkens entstand Mitte der 70er Jahre des 20. Jh. und schlug "große Wellen", die über die Scientific Community hinaus bis in die Alltagsvorstellungen der Menschen reichten. Im wissenschaftlichen Bereich bedeuteten die neuen, skeptisch geprägten, Überlegungen und Postulate der Anhänger des Radikalen Konstruktivismus (RK) zwar keinen Paradigmenwechsel, sie sorgten allerdings gerade in den Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaften nachhaltig für große Veränderungen in Bezug auf Theorien- und Modellbildungen. Der RK lieferte beispielsweise die Grundlagen für die Entwicklung eines komplett neuen Konzepts zur Bestimmung und Analyse von Kommunikations- und Medienereignissen. In wie weit beeinflussen Medien das Erkennen und die Vorstellung der Wirklichkeit? Für diese und ähnliche zentrale Fragen in den Medienwissenschaften gab der RK neue Antwortmöglichkeiten, die klassische, behavioristische Erklärungen (scheinbar) obsolet machten. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, die wichtigsten Kritikpunkte am RK aufzuzeigen und daraus Ansätze zu entwickeln, die sich auf die zukünftige Entwicklung dieses Diskurses beziehen. Da ich der Auffassung bin, dass man sich im Zuge von wissenschaftlichen Diskursen durchaus einer objektiven Wahrheit (zumindest) annähern kann und ich diesen Anspruch auch in den folgenden Ausführungen vertrete, lässt sich die Position, die ich in dieser Arbeit einnehme, als realistisch bezeichnen.
