Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Führung und Personal - Sonstiges, Note: 1,3, Bayerische Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Veranstaltung: Marketing-Seminar, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Laut einer Umfrage der Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC) vom Mai 2006 haben 53 % von 1.311 befragten Führungskräften noch keine zufriedenstellende Balance zwischen Berufs- und Privatleben gefunden. 46 % gaben an, dass ihr Arbeitspensum in den vergangenen fünf Jahren sogar stetig gestiegen sei. Die Belastungen und der Stress im Beruf nehmen zu. Für mehr Zeit im Privatleben würden 80 % der Befragten auf Aufstiegschancen verzichten, und 87 % ziehen Überlegungen zur WLB mit in ihre Entscheidung bei der Suche nach einem geeigneten Arbeitgeber mit ein. Die hier dargelegten Zahlen veranschaulichen die große Relevanz einer ausgeglichenen WLB sowohl für den Arbeitgeber als auch für den Beschäftigten. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, aufzuzeigen, inwiefern das Konzept der WLB dazu beiträgt, dass ein Unternehmen effizient ist. Der Begriff Effizienz wird dabei, anders als im Sprachgebrauch, nach der Definition von Chester I. Barnard verwendet. Neben motivationstheoretischen Grundlagen erläutert Kapitel 2 einige grundlegende Definitionen, die für das weitere Verständnis erforderlich sind. Anschließend wird die Anreiz-Beitrag-Gleichgewichtstheorie von Chester I. Barnard vorgestellt. Kapitel 3 stellt das Konzept der WLB vor. Der Begriff wird zunächst definiert, um dann auf wesentliche Maßnahmen und Instrumente, sowie auf Anforderungen einer Führungskraft, näher einzugehen. Auf den beiden vorangegangenen Kapiteln aufbauend wird in Kapitel 4 die Auswirkung von WLB auf die Effizienz eines Unternehmens untersucht. Kapitel 5 zeigt WLB-Maßnahmen am Beispiel der Siemens AG auf. Kapitel 6 fasst die durch diese Arbeit gewonnenen Erkenntnisse zusammen, und schliesst mit einem Ausblick ab.
