Critics have often said that the commercialism of our age stands in the way of a group of men who would bend then best efforts to the production of a beautiful object by then common law. That this indictment is unjust one has but 10 know the extraordinary services rendered by all the contractors and builders who aided in the erection of the Woolworth Building. But it was this very fact that determined the selection of a contractor for work on the Wool worth Building He not only had to be in the best in his field. have the best material at his disposal, the best talent at his service, but it was also essential that he have an organization Kick of him which was thoroughly adequate and had reached the maximum of efficiency Personally I believe that the contractor and workers who aided in the completion of the Woolworth Building arc rightfully proud of their part in the work, not merely because of the magnitude of the undertaking but also because of the exacting conditions that were demanded of them. But in quality of work and material, in speed and resourcefulness. each contractor fulfilled nil conditions, thus giving him the rightful title of "Master Builder." Much of my professional life is spent producing documentary and reality programs for television (including more than a few about Ham Radio) where I learned that the purpose of a title is to attract an audience and if it was also true, all the better. The challenge with documentary films is to make them entertaining first and foremost, and informational if possible.
