“Every Pakistani from the youngest child to your eldest scholar should read this wonderful book Quotes from the Quaid with pride and joy. Each page contains at least one inspiring thought culled from the life’s work of your great leader, illuminating Quaid-e-Azam’s humane brilliance and the wisdom of his remarkable mind”, writes Professor Stanley Wolpert in his foreword to the book. The decision by the Jinnah Society to publish Quotes from the Quaid as an e-book responds to the need for increasing awareness of Jinnah's leadership and the Pakistan Movement; the ever-increasing demand for this book from Pakistanis and the need to make Quotes from the Quaid available to all in and outside Pakistan easily as an e-book free of cost particularly in these troubled times caused by the Coronavirus all over the world. The book has previously sold more than 20,000 copies and was distributed to schools, colleges and universities for free. It was published first in 2007 by Oxford University Press and then again in 2020 by Lightstone Publishers. Mr. Liaquat Merchant, President of The Jinnah Society. said that the sole purpose of The Jinnah Society in bringing out Quotes from the Quaid in hard copy and now as an e-book constitutes one more effort to propagate and promote the principles, ideals, and vision of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, as a nation-building exercise and thus promote the development of democratic leaders in the role model of Mr Jinnah with particular emphasis on private honour and public integrity.

A correct perspective on the origins and development of pan-Islam in British India had eluded writers for years. The author treats the subject comprehensively and highlights links between pan-Islam and nationalist movements in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In focus is the Khilafat movement (1918-1924) which, with its distinct religio-political dynamics, aimed at saving Ottoman Turkey from dismemberment as well as securing self-government for India. Extensively utilizing a variety of archival and other source materials, the author unfolds the fascinating story of how, in concert with secular forces, the pan-Islamic appeal was mobilized for political gains in the broader context of the British policy towards Turkey and India. The book also examines the gradual transition of Muslim politics from pan-Islam to territorial nationalism, especially after the Turks abolished the caliphate and the Indians plunged back into communal strife.

Diving deep into the saga of 1,000 years of painful slavery and excruciating humiliation, India, a country with mindboggling resources and riches was heroically freed from the clutches of her last invader, the mighty British rulers. Despite being subjected to foreign rulers for thousands of years, India’s pristine cultural identity and uniqueness of civilization remained intact. The political partnership among Indian leaders was so prolific that it outshined the acumen of British leaders in every single aspect. The audacity of Winston Churchill to keep India a permanent slave of the British Raj and his hateful condemnation of giving India its political freedom as a shameful flight was decisively defeated by the strong political acumen of Indian leaders. Barrister Jinnah was a crack in the wall as he was hell-bent on his demand for a separate Pakistan of Muslims. India was asking for independence as a united India but the British divided it into two different nations thereby creating permanent enmity between them with the hope of invading these fragile states one more time. Till his last breath, Mahatma Gandhi fought for Hindu-Muslim unity and undivided India. His preaching for non-violence, universal brotherhood, and tolerance became the universal truth and panacea for present-day problems of the modern world.

The Charismatic Leader written by Sikandar Hayat and has been published by Oxford University Press, USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

This second, revised edition of the book is an updated version, covering the most recent writings on the subject, especially in India, and provides a detailed and systematic analysis of the charismatic leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the leader of Indian Muslims during the crisis-ridden decade of 1937-47. Based on the concept of charisma formulated by Max Weber and developed by recent writers, the study concentrates on the "personality-related" and "situational" factors that led to the emergence of Jinnah as the charismatic leader of the Muslims and sustained him in that role until the creation of Pakistan. In explaining and explicating Jinnah's charisma, his early political career and the crises facing the Muslims of British India, both systemic and of leadership, have been examined at length. A particular emphasis has been placed on the roles of Aga Khan, Mian Fazl-i-Hussain, Sikandar Hayat Khan, Khizar Hayat Khan Tiwana, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, and Maulana Hussain Ahmad Madani. This has been followed by a discussion of Jinnah's "formula" of Pakistan, including the criticisms of the Lahore Resolution by the then Hindu leadership and Indian writers of today. Subsequently, an effort has been made to highlight Jinnah's strategy for political mobilization of the Muslims and their organization under the banner of the All-India Muslim League. Finally, his struggle for the creation of Pakistan as the charismatic leader of the Muslims, in spite of the combined opposition of the British and the Congress, is evaluated and assessed, especially in the context of his accepting and then rejecting the Cabinet Mission Plan of 1946, the last constitutional plan to keep India united. In their "enthusiasm, despair, and hope", the Muslims rallied behind Jinnah and his Pakistan demand like never before. The result was that, at the creation of Pakistan in August 1947, his charisma was truly at its "zenith". He had accomplished his mission. Although Jinnah has been studied as a charismatic leader before, no previous study has defined and discussed the concept of charisma so methodically or employed it to analyze his leadership in such a systematic, organized manner. In this sense, the book is unique and distinct and makes an original contribution to the scholarly literature on Jinnah's political leadership. Indeed, as Dr Roger D. Long, a distinguished American historian, observed, "Dr Hayat's analysis of Jinnah as a charismatic figure fills an important lacuna in the field." The first edition of the book received the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan's "Best Book Publication Award" (2011).
