This work is a deconstruction of Xi Jinping's discourse of the new development model for China in the new era/ new normal of the post 2008 21st century going forward. This new development model, made necessary by the post 2008 condition of the Chinese economy; its evolutionary path coupled to an increasingly hostile geopolitical environment arising from North Atlantic attempts to stymie China's path to modernisation. Xi Jinping's development model is hinged on three signposts which will indicate the success or failure of the development model: attaining moderate prosperity for all in all respects by 2020, attaining the Chinese Dream of complete modernisation by 2049 and common prosperity for all by 2049. This development model puts in place the philosophy and methodology to create a modernised China which presents an alternate model of development to that of the hegemonic white world order of neo-liberal imperialist power for the first time in the history of the world since 1492. A beacon of hope to the Global South!

Since becoming president of China and general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Xi Jinping has emerged as China's most powerful and popular leader since Deng Xiaoping. The breathtaking economic expansion and military modernization that Xi inherited has convinced him that China can transform into a twenty-first-century superpower. In this collection, leading scholars from the United States, Asia, and Europe examine both the prospects for China's continuing rise and the emergent and unintended consequences posed by China's internal instability and international assertiveness. Contributors examine domestic challenges surrounding slowed economic growth, Xi's anti-corruption campaign, and government efforts to maintain social stability. Essays on foreign policy range from the impact of nationalist pressures on international relations to China’s heavy-handed actions in the South China Sea that challenge regional stability and US-China cooperation. The result is a comprehensive analysis of current policy trends in Xi's China and the implications of these developments for his nation, the United States, and Asia-Pacific.

Xi Jinping S China written by Mr Jayadeva Ranade and has been published by KW Publishers Pvt Ltd this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-15 with Political Science categories.
The book examines how since his appointment to China’s three top posts – simultaneously for the first time in 30 years – Xi Jinping has deftly used ideology and nationalism to accumulate power and ensure the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s legitimacy and monopoly on power. Xi Jinping has imposed progressively stricter domestic measures leading to the steady hardening and inflexibility of the Chinese state. It looks at the reforms in the Party, Government and Military and the unprecedentedly sustained and bruising drive against corruption in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). In the process, Xi Jinping has eliminated political rivals and whittled down opposition to the most extensive and far reaching reforms the PLA has witnessed in its 90 years. Developments related to Tibet are especially analysed. The book analyses China’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ – now called the ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ – and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor initiatives, intended to alter its strategic environment and expand power and influence well beyond its borders and up to Europe. It concludes that China will squeeze the strategic space of its neighbours. China’s rise and bid to establish itself as the dominant power in the Indo-Pacific, however, will not be uncontested. India, Japan and the USA’s response will be important.
