In her remarkable first book, God Dwells With Us: Temple Symbolism in the Fourth Gospel, Mary L. Coloe, P.B.V.M., explored the profound insight of John's Gospel expressed in Jesus ' invitation to his disciples: Make your home in me, as I make mine in you (John 15:4). For the gospel's author and audience, the dwelling of God among humans was, above al, the Jerusalem Temple. The gospel traces how 'after the trauma of the destruction of the Temple 'the Johannine community came to expand and deepen its knowledge of God's dwelling among humans, finding it now in the person of Jesus and in the community of believers. Dwelling in the Household of God moves us from seeing God's dwelling place as the Temple to seeing God's dwelling place within the community of believers. The starting point now is an image in John 14:2: my Father's house, which is given its Old Testament meaning of my father's household. Our awareness thus moves, like that of the first Christians, from understanding My father's house as the Temple (John 2:16) to My Father's Household as a community of believers drawn into Jesus ' own divine filiation. To appreciate the theological genius of Hans Urs von Balthasar, we must note his inseparable connection with Adrienne von Speyr. Balthasar referred to Von Speyr as the inspirational source of his theological vision and literary achievements. Says Balthasar: ‘Her work and mine are neither psychologically nor philologically to be separated: two halves of a single whole, which has as its center a unique foundation’ (My Work: In Retrospect, 105, 89). This ‘unique foundation’ is a mystical apprehension of the immanent Life of the Trinity. At the heart of the Trinity, Balthasar and Speyr see a primordial Mystery of Kenosis, i.e., self-dis-possession. Balthasar terms this Trinitarian self-expropriation Ur-kenosis, since the self-emptying (kenosis) within the Trinity applies not only to Christ but also to the Father and the Holy Spirit. The Father divests himself of himself in the begetting of his Son; the Holy Spirit is the fontal Power of self-abnegation (kenosis) within the Trinity, so ‘emptied of himself’ that he, as Spirit, is absolutely incognito. DIVINE KENOSIS is an attempt to draw attention to the neo-patristic synthesis and anagogical vision promoted by Han Urs von Balthasar and Adrienne von Speyr. It is also an extension of my personal mission to ‘promote a Trinitarian vision of deification and contemplative prayer.’

A divine pathway recoups the neglected youths suffering from broken hearts, the victimized parents, and all those who are vulnerable to abuse despite their age. Ironically, without judging, everybody is biblically guiltless. Regrettably, conspiracy and disorderly pressure from community is tarnishing lives of the young generation. Some children are victims of decisions made by parents and it has affected their lives though with some it is by own choice and peer pressure from bully friends. The devil is also gravely flirting with teenagers corrupting their mindset through social media especially internet. Teenage pregnancy, drugs, magazines and bullying the innocent is the devils work because teenagers of today are the witnesses of coming of Christ. Knife and gun gangs are roaming the world streets at an unprecedented rate and fear of muggers is tormenting and crippling the society 24/7. Some single parents blame their status because of the behaviour of their children. Some couples are also failing to control their teenage children. As a result, the Victorian times of high opinion of elders is now regarded as a thing of the ancient. Parents are neglecting their children because of parenting ineffectiveness and at times out of fear. Presumably, lacking of common ground with teenage children is a grey area impediment. As a parent, I urge all parents by the love of Christ to amalgamate and save the young generation from the spineless world for today is their tomorrow. Truthfully, only the incorruptible Spirit of God can regenerate the bruised inner being of the deprived teenagers that is if their passion is Christ-like. The same Spirit moulds parents to be real models to youths. Every day is a learning curve. No one is perfect and learning does not end. Parents should not blame themselves or the children for bad behaviour though there is always a cause. They should leave no stone unturned and find the root cause first.
