This book examines the progress of institutionalisation of evaluation in European countries from various perspectives. It describes both prior developments and current states of evaluation in 16 European countries and across the European Union (EU), focussing on three dimensions, namely the political, social and professional systems. These detailed country reports, which have been written by selected researchers and authors from each of the respective countries, lead to a concluding comparison and synthesis. This is the first of four volumes of the compendium The Institutionalisation of Evaluation to be followed by volumes on the Americas, Africa and Australasia. The overall aim is to provide an interdisciplinary audience with cross-country learning to enable them to better understand the institutionalisation of evaluation in different nations, world regions and different sectors.

Persistent unemployment and rising wage differences at the expense of low-skilled workers has characterized the labor market in most developed countries. Since the last economic crisis, unemployment rates and pay inequalities have increased among workers under 25 years of age, thus creating an ever-widening financial gap for an entire generation. Those who do not have a qualification or post-secondary diploma often find themselves in precarious jobs at minimum wage. Countries are now working to adopt reforms to improve the situation of young people in the labor market. International Perspectives on the Youth Labor Market: Emerging Research and Opportunities provides emerging research exploring the theoretical and practical aspects of financial inequality and applications within global economics. Unlike literature that focuses only on developed countries, this book also addresses emerging economies whose labor market is often characterized by a dualism that makes the situation of young workers worse. Featuring coverage on a broad range of topics such as unemployment rate, labor reform, and job insecurity, this book is ideally designed for economists, government officials, policymakers, executives, managers, business professionals, researchers, academicians, and students.

Youth Care Knowledge Exchange Through Online Simulation Gaming written by Roelof Petrus Hortulanus and has been published by Kees JM van Haaster, Amersfoort-NL this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014 with categories.

Youth care multi-disciplinary networks need flexible, interactive and attractive tools and methods for knowledge exchange in view of timely, effective and durable help in complex parenting problem situations. Social media, virtuality, simulation and gaming gain an increasing significance in the way people share information, learn and organize themselves. This leads to the question whether youth care practice is ready to adopt some online practicalities for network exchange. This design study describes model development and model appreciation of online role-play simulation gaming as a time, pace and place independent way to share expertise, information and knowledge among the actors in youth care practice. The results show that youth care professionals think that simulation gaming is relevant and convenient to unravel difficult issues, to elaborate network strategies, and to jointly reflect on intervention. The research is unique in domains of youth care intervention and in game theory. The singularity of contexts and actors is taken as starting point in a cross-over of game design and behavioral science. Online role-play simulation gaming leads to a better understanding of complexity in youth care situations and to a greater awareness of network capacities and capabilities and helps to establish accountability of choices of intervention.

Decision Making And Judgment In Child Welfare And Protection written by Donald J. Baumann and has been published by Oxford University Press, USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020 with Political Science categories.

"Professionals working in child welfare and child protection are making decisions with crucial implications for children and families on a daily basis. The types of judgements and decisions they make vary and include decisions such as whether to substantiate a child abuse allegation, whether a child is at risk of significant harm by parents, and whether to remove a child from home or to reunify a child with parents after some time in care. These decisions are intended to help achieve the best interests of the child. Unfortunately, they can sometimes also doom children and families unnecessarily to many years of pain and suffering. Judgments and decisions in child welfare and protection are based to a large extent on the formidable knowledge base on child abuse and neglect created over the years to support this professional task chore. Nevertheless, making decisions in complex and uncertain environments is fraught with many difficulties and shortcomings. There are in fact many indications that decisions in this area are not reliable and there are many errors in judgment that could be avoided, had the decision makers relied on existing knowledge on decision making under uncertainty and followed appropriate procedures. Much needs to be improved on how these decisions are made by individual professionals and child welfare agencies"--
