Weltkrieg, Weimarer Republik, Note: 1,0, Universität Wien, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Epoche der Erwachsenenbildung in der Weimarer Republik ist nicht nur unter historischen, sondern auch unter aktuellen Fragestellungen von eminenter Bedeutung. Denn der quartäre Bildungsbereich erhielt in jener Zeit, insbesondere durch die bedeutungsvolle Volkshochschulbewegung, einen paradigmatischen Charakter, den er sich bis heute gehalten hat. Ein neues Verständnis zwischen dem Verhältnis von Staat und Erwachsenenbildung entwickelte sich - standen sie von Beginn an in stetigem Konflikt, so bewegten sie sich in der Weimarer Zeit erstmals auf einander zu. Der Staat erkannte erstmals seine bildungspolitischen Pflichten gegenüber dem quartären Bildungsbereich an, die Erwachsenenbildung erhielt Verfassungsrang. Aber auch die Parteien sowie größere gesellschaftliche Gruppen gewannen nach und nach eine positive Einstellung zur Volksbildung, deren gesellschaftlicher und politischer Relevanz nun außer Frage stand. So wurde die Volksbildung, deren demokratietheoretischer Ursprung eine gesellschaftintegrierende Funktion war, auch ein gewichtiges Instrument zur Durchsetzung politischer und weltanschaulicher-ideologischer Ziele der verschiedensten gesellschaftlichen Kräfte. Diese Arbeit soll einerseits Informationen über die Bildungsarbeit der Parteien in der Weimarer Republik geben, anderseits soll die auch die dominierende Volkshochschulbewegung beleuchtet werden. Im ersten Kapitel der vorliegenden Seminararbeit werden die historischen Grundlinien und die pädagogischen Ausgangsbedingungen um 1919 nachgezeichnet. Anschließend wird die Bildungsarbeit der Kommunistischen Partei sowie die der Sozialdemokratie und der Gewerkschaften beschrieben und analysiert.
