Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Politik, politische Bildung, Note: 1,7, Universität Augsburg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Tatsache, dass die Geschichte der politischen Bildung in Deutschland auch eine „Erfolgsgeschichte“ ist, lässt sich nicht bestreiten. „Entgegen allen Unkenrufen und den permanenten Krisenlamentos hat die politische Erwachsenenbildung ein vitales Leben entfaltet“ (Hufer 2003, S. 120). Im Laufe des letzten Jahrhunderts wurde die demokratische politische Bildung in der pädagogischen Praxis verankert, institutionell gesichert und wissenschaftlich-konzeptionell untermauert. „Es kann mit guten Gründen vermutet werden, dass die politische Bildung in ihren schulischen und außerschulischen Praxisfeldern einen wichtigen Anteil an der Beheimatung der Demokratie in Deutschland hat“ (Sander 2002, S. 36). Seit einigen Jahren bzw. Jahrzehnten besteht eine breite und insgesamt bewährte plurale Infrastruktur eines weit verzweigten Netzes an staatlichen und nichtstaatlichen Institutionen. Zahlreiche konzeptionelle Vorstellungen in Form von Büchern, Artikeln und anderen Schriften beschäftigen sich mit der Praxis der politischen Bildung in theoretischer Auseinandersetzung. Die Bedeutung der politischen Bildung als höchst bedeutsames Aufgabenfeld ist außerdem in hohem Maße gesellschaftlich anerkannt: kein anderer Bereich des Bildungssystems stützt auf eine von der Bundesregierung errichtete „Bundeszentrale“, in keinem anderen Bereich leisten sich die Länder eigene „Landeszentralen“ (vgl. Himmelmann 2001, S. 10). Schon die Existenz dieser „Zentralen“ bestätigt den hohen Stellenwert der politischen Bildung für die Gesellschaft Deutschlands. Trotzdem stellt die Erfolgsgeschichte der politischen Bildung nur eine Seite der Medaille dar. Die spannende Zeit, in der wir leben, wirft immer wieder neue Fragen auf und erfordert neue Antworten. Die Fragen nach „Identität“ der politischen Bildung, ihrer Ziele, Aufgaben, Inhalte und Methoden bilden den Kern der vorliegenden Arbeit.
