Glaube Und Denken written by Kurt Hübner and has been published by Mohr Siebeck this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004 with Philosophy categories.

English summary: Christian faith today is criticized as being inconsistent with science. However, as the modern philosophy of science has demonstrated, reality has many dimensions, and science is only one approach to reality. As surprising as it may seem, mythical and religious experiences are among the other approaches, and they are just as important as the scientific approaches. Based on this recognition, the author gives a systematic analysis of mythical and non-mythical elements of Christian revelation, which are connected inseparably to each other, in the first part of his work. In the second part, he describes the different fruitless efforts in the history of metaphysics to replace or disprove the revelation by scientific reason. German description: "... Karl-Hermann Kandler in Lutherische Beitrage 8/2 (2003) S. 111-116 6quot; ... So gehort das Buch zu jenen uberragenden Werken, die bleibend etwas von den philosophischen Leistungen der zweiten Halfte des 20. Jahrhunderts zeigen.Otto Poggeler in Wissenschaftlicher Literaturanzeiger 42 /1 (2003) S. 11

The Emergency Of Being written by Richard F. H. Polt and has been published by Cornell University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006 with Philosophy categories.

"The heart of history, for Heidegger, is not a sequence of occurrences but the eruption of significance at critical junctures that bring us into our own by making all being, including our being, into an urgent issue. In emergency, being emerges."—from The Emergency of Being The esoteric Contributions to Philosophy, often considered Martin Heidegger's second main work after Being and Time, is crucial to any interpretation of his thought. Here Heidegger proposes that being takes place as "appropriation." Richard Polt's independent-minded account of the Contributions interprets appropriation as an event of emergency that demands to be thought in a "future-subjunctive" mode. Polt explores the roots of appropriation in Heidegger's earlier philosophy; Heidegger's search for a way of thinking suited to appropriation; and the implications of appropriation for time, space, human existence, and beings as a whole. In his concluding chapter, Polt reflects critically on the difficulties of the radically antirationalist and antimodern thought of the Contributions. Polt's original reading neither reduces this challenging text to familiar concepts nor refutes it, but engages it in a confrontation—an encounter that respects a way of thinking by struggling with it. He describes this most private work of Heidegger's philosophy as "a dissonant symphony that imperfectly weaves together its moments into a vast fugue, under the leitmotif of appropriation. This fugue is seeded with possibilities that are waiting for us, its listeners, to develop them. Some are dead ends—viruses that can lead only to a monolithic, monotonous misunderstanding of history. Others are embryonic insights that promise to deepen our thought, and perhaps our lives, if we find the right way to make them our own."

Existentia Hermeneutica written by Andrzej Wiercinski and has been published by LIT Verlag Münster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-03-10 with categories.

Existentia hermeneutica is phronetic existence with the aim of cultivating practical wisdom in human life: It comes from life, influences life, and transforms life. Understanding what is happening in life requires reaching the hermeneutic truth, which is the truth of understanding. The experience of hermeneutic truth calls for personal commitment and existential response, and, thus, expresses the hermeneutic moral imperative. Referring to Heidegger’s phenomenological analytics of Dasein, Gadamer emphasizes that understanding is not only one of the human capabilities, but a way of Dasein’s being-in-the-world.

Heidegger S Philosophy Of Being written by Herman Philipse and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-05-11 with Philosophy categories.

This scrupulously researched and rigorously argued book is the first to interpret and evaluate the central topic of Martin Heidegger's philosophy--his celebrated "Question of Being"--in the context of the full range of Heidegger's thought. With this comprehensive approach, Herman Philipse distinguishes in unprecedented ways the center from the periphery, the essential from the incidental in Heidegger's philosophy. Among other achievements, this allows him to shed new light on the controversial relationship between Heidegger's life and thought--in particular the connections between his philosophy and his involvement with Nazism. Philipse begins by explaining which problems an interpretation of Heidegger's question of being should solve, and he specifies which type of interpretation is the best basis for an evaluation of Heidegger's thought. He then identifies various strands or leitmotifs in Heidegger's idea of being, and shows how these strands hang together in the philosopher's work. In doing so, Philipse offers new insights into Heidegger's views on such subjects as human existence, authenticity, logic, and language, and into his readings of such philosophers as Aristotle, Kant, Hegel, and Nietzsche. Philipse then integrates into his interpretation of Heidegger's overall theory the latest scholarship about the philosopher's engagement with Nazism. Finally, Philipse examines the fundamental structures of Heidegger's philosophy and assesses whether Heidegger's views are true, probable, or possess some other epistemic or existential value. As the most thorough interpretation of Heidegger's theory of being now available, this work represents a new phase in the vigorous debate about the philosopher's life and works.

Eckhart Heidegger And The Imperative Of Releasement written by Ian Alexander Moore and has been published by SUNY Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-11-01 with Philosophy categories.

Provides the first systematic interpretation of Heidegger’s relation to Eckhart, centering on the idea that we must release ourselves in order to know the truth. In the late Middle Ages the philosopher and mystic Meister Eckhart preached that to know the truth you must be the truth. But how to be the truth? Eckhart’s answer comes in the form of an imperative: release yourself, let be. Only then will you be able to understand that the deepest meaning of being is releasement and become who you truly are. This book interprets Eckhart’s Latin and Middle High German writings under the banner of an imperative of releasement, and then shows how the twentieth-century thinker Martin Heidegger creatively appropriates this idea at several stages of his career. Heidegger had a lifelong fascination with Eckhart, referring to him as “the old master of letters and life.” Drawing on archival material and Heidegger’s marginalia in his personal copies of Eckhart’s writings, Moore argues that Eckhart was one of the most important figures in Heidegger’s philosophy. This book also contains previously unpublished documents by Heidegger on Eckhart, as well as the first English translation of Nishitani Keiji’s essay “Nietzsche’s Zarathustra and Meister Eckhart,” which he initially gave as a presentation in one of Heidegger’s classes in 1938. “Moore’s book is an impressive achievement. Nobody can fail to learn from it or fail to appreciate the dedication and devotion that has enabled him to produce what is unquestionably an indispensable volume for anybody interested in Eckhart, late Heidegger, or the relation of so-called mysticism to philosophy more generally.” — Robert Bernasconi, Pennsylvania State University

McGrath offers not a comprehensive summary of Heidegger but a series of incisive takes on Heidegger's thought, leading readers to a point from which they can begin or continue their own relationship with him."--BOOK JACKET.
