Laut dem Ökobarometer des Bundesverbraucherministeriums kaufen 60% der Befragten gelegentlich Bio-Produkte ein, weil sie die Sicherheit und die Gesundheit der Bio-Lebensmittel überzeugt hat. Es wollen 23% der Befragten in den nächsten Jahren mehr ökologisch erzeugte Lebensmittel kaufen. Zwar hat sich die Kulturlandschaft, die Landwirtschaft und somit der ländliche Raum seit 2000 Jahren in Mitteleuropa durch die Menschen ständig verändert, jedoch stellen sich auch viele Fragen. Wieso dieser Wandel der Wertevorstellung von einer gewinnorientierten Landwirtschaft hin zu einer nachhaltigen Landwirtschaft? Aber auch was ist überhaupt ökologischer Landbau? Welche Ziele werden von der Politik angestrebt? Welche Vor- und Nachteile besitzen der ökologische Landbau und seine Bio-Produkte? Wie sieht der heutige Bio-Markt aus und wie stehen die Zukunftschancen des ökologischen Landbaus gegenüber der konventionellen Landwirtschaft?
