Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Französische Philologie - Landeskunde und Kultur, Note: 1,0, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (Institut für Romanistik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Als Claude Chabrols Film Une affaire de femmes 1988 in die Kinos kam, war er nicht nur in Frankreich umstritten, sondern sorgte auch im Ausland für Aufsehen. Das Thema „Schwangerschaftsabbruch unter dem Vichy-Regime“ erweist sich in Frankreich als problematisch: Aus verschiedenen Lagern regte sich Widerstand gegen die Verfilmung dieses Stoffes, sei es nun von Seiten der Katholiken oder der Pétainisten. Frauenschicksale werden nur selten und erst verstärkt in den letzten Jahren im Zusammenhang mit dem Themenkomplex «occupation, collaboration et résistance» thematisiert, wie zum Beispiel in La bicyclette bleue von Thierry Binistit aus dem Jahre 2000. Die Rolle der Frau und die Probleme, mit der Frauen zu dieser Zeit konfrontiert waren, speziell die Frage nach ungewollten Schwangerschaften, wurde bis zur Veröffentlichung von Une affaire de femmes kaum berücksichtigt. In der vorliegenden Arbeit soll der Versuch unternommen werden zu klären, ob Une affaire de femmes als Erinnerungsfilm bezeichnet werden kann und inwieweit es der Film vermag, eine alternative weibliche Erinnerung zu konstruieren. Das heißt konkret, dass im Folgenden herausgearbeitet werden soll, inwieweit der Film den Kriterien, die Astrid Erll und Stephanie Wodianka in Film und kulturelle Erinnerung. Plurimediale Konstellationen. an den Erinnerungsfilms anlegen, gerecht wird. Erll und Wodianka betonen ausdrücklich, dass es sich beim Erinnerungsfilm um ein „gesellschaftlich und plurimedial ausgehandeltes Phänomen“ handelt, das zwar als Beitrag zur Erinnerungskultur intendiert werden kann, aber erst in der Rezeption zu einem veritablen Erinnerungsfilm wird (Erll & Wodianka 2008: 2). Ob der Film es tatsächlich vermag, sein Wirkpotential zu entfalten, kann demnach nur durch eine filmimmanenten Untersuchung beantwortet werden, deren Ergebnisse von einer filmtranszendierenden Untersuchung gestützt werden müssen. Im Mittelpunkt der filmimmanenten Analyse soll zunächst Maries Verhältnis zu den Frauen, die ihre Hilfe bei einem Schwangerschaftsabbruch suchen, zu ihrer Familie und zur Vichy-Regierung stehen. Anschließend werden die Identifikationsmöglichkeiten, die der Film insbesondere den Zuschauerinnen bietet, ausgelotet. Die filmtranszendierende Untersuchung wird die Rezeption des Films in Frankreich und im Ausland beleuchten und so zeigen, inwieweit Une affaire de femmes als Erinnerungsfilm rezipiert wurde und wird.

This is the first full-scale biography, in any language, of a towering figure in German and European Romanticism: August Wilhelm Schlegel whose life, 1767 to 1845, coincided with its inexorable rise. As poet, translator, critic and oriental scholar, Schlegel's extraordinarily diverse interests and writings left a vast intellectual legacy, making him a foundational figure in several branches of knowledge. He was one of the last thinkers in Europe able to practise as well as to theorise, and to attempt to comprehend the nature of culture without being forced to be a narrow specialist. With his brother Friedrich, for example, Schlegel edited the avant-garde Romantic periodical Athenaeum; and he produced with his wife Caroline a translation of Shakespeare, the first metrical version into any foreign language. Schlegel's Lectures on Dramatic Art and Literature were a defining force for Coleridge and for the French Romantics. But his interests extended to French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese literature, as well to the Greek and Latin classics, and to Sanskrit. August Wilhelm Schlegel is the first attempt to engage with this totality, to combine an account of Schlegel’s life and times with a critical evaluation of his work and its influence. Through the study of one man's rich life, incorporating the most recent scholarship, theoretical approaches, and archival resources, while remaining easily accessible to all readers, Paulin has recovered the intellectual climate of Romanticism in Germany and traced its development into a still-potent international movement. The extraordinarily wide scope and variety of Schlegel's activities have hitherto acted as a barrier to literary scholars, even in Germany.
