El libro y los ejercicios estn diseados de forma a convertir el saln de clase en un taller de redaccin. El libro va ms all de la correccin de la gramtica, la ortografa, la puntuacin o la sintaxis; su foco principales la sistematizacin de las tcnicas de la estructuracin formal lgica, el encadenamiento ordenado de ideas y la unidad temtica de los diferentes tipos de prrafos o ensayos, que le permitirn al alumno responder a las exigencias de escritura en los cursos avanzados. La redaccin de un prrafo o ensayo es enfrentada como un proceso, el que, para ser mecanizado, requiere de mtodo, sistematizacin y trabajo riguroso. A la perfeccin! se concentra en entregar las pautas que permitirn elaborar textos legibles, claros, variados, efectivos y con fluidez natural. Los alumnos podrn aplicar las destrezas adquiridas en redaccin y anlisis, estructuracin lgica del prrafo, claridad en la exposicin de argumentos y escritura de ensayos a otras disciplinas acadmicas. Organizacin del texto La presentacin del material terico y prctico est fundamentada en las ms recientes teoras sobre la enseanza de la escritura, y la misma permite la evaluacin de lo aprendido de acuerdo a las actuales exigencias institucionales, estatales y nacionales. Los ejemplos de textos incluidos apuntan a ampliar la formacin cultural del alumno y a facilitarle la comprensin del contenido en los cursos de literatura y de cultura y civilizacin de Espaa y de Latinoamrica. El aprendizaje se har por etapas partiendo de lo bsico: de la redaccin de una oracin simple a una compuesta; una vez dominada la mecnica de la oracin, se pasar a la mecnica del prrafo hasta llegar a la mecnica de redaccin de ensayos y la estructuracin de respuestas a preguntas especficas. Para cada tipo de prrafo o de texto se entregan los esquemas de planificacin, de desarrollo y de revisin personal del texto, y en adicin, se entregan las pautas de correccin que toman encuenta las espectativas para el nivel avanzado. Las tres categoras de ejercicios van llevando al alumno a participar de maneras diferentes en su aprendizaje; los ejercicios de grupo representan un momento privilegiado de conversacin. El Portafolio de autoevaluacin que cada estudiante deber entregar al profesor al final de cada captulo le permitir medir, y reflexionar sobre su progreso.
