Por eso nació “A MI MANERA” Because we all have our own stories and more to tell... Because sometimes we can’t find the necessary words to write what we think and/or feel... Because poetry is more than just words of love and/or heartbreak... Because I am an apprentice poet and a thief of stories... This is why "MY WAY” was born.

My Way written by Paul Anka and has been published by St. Martin's Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-04-09 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

A teen idol of the 1950s who virtually invented the singer/songwriter/heartthrob combination that still tops pop music today, Paul Anka rocketed to fame with a slew of hits-from "Diana" to "Put Your Head on my Shoulder"-that earned him a place touring with the major stars of his era, including Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Buddy Holly. He wrote Holly's last hit, and just missed joining the rocker on his final, fatal plane flight. Anka also stepped in front of the camera in the teen beach-party movie era, scoring the movies and romancing their starlets, including Annette Funicello. When the British invasion made his fans swoon for a new style of music-and musician--Anka made sure he wasn't conquered. A rapier-canny businessman and image-builder who took his career into his own hands-just as he had from the very beginning, swiping his mother's car at fourteen to drive himself, underage, to his first gigs in Quebec-Anka toured the world until he could return home in triumph. A charter member of the Rat Pack, he wrote the theme music for The Tonight Show as well as his friend Frank Sinatra's anthem "My Way". By the 1970s, a multi-decade string of pop chart-toppers, including "Puppy Love" and "(You're) Having My Baby", cemented his status as an icon. My Way is bursting with rich, rollicking stories of the business and the people in Anka's life: Elizabeth Taylor, Dodi Fayed, Tom Jones, Michael Jackson, Adnan Khashoggi, Little Richard, Brooke Shields, Johnny Roselli, Sammy Davis, Jr., Brigitte Bardot, Barnum & Bailey Circus acrobats, and many more. Anka is forthcoming, funny and smart as a whip about the business he's been in for almost six decades. My Way moves from New York to Vegas, from the casino stage to backstages all over the world. It's the most entertaining autobiography of the year.

In April of 1992 John L. Van der Heyden registered a trademark for courses, trainings and education at the Benelux Trade Registrar in The Hague with the name Instituto Cervantes and founded the Foundation Cervantes Benelux. Four years later, on the 31st of July he invited the Crown Princes of The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg and Spain to become the government of the foundation. The next day -- the first of August -- Van der Heyden went to England and lighted a candle at Canterbury Cathedral. From that time it became clear to him that Princess Diana was also interested in his project. How things developed from that time is explained in Letters to Diana, Princess of Wales. The story ends with the fatal kidnapping in Paris, exactly four weeks before Diana and Van der Heyden's proposed wedding day in The Netherlands.

The Dissidence Of Reinaldo Arenas written by Sandro R. Barros and has been published by University Press of Florida this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-02-22 with Literary Criticism categories.

International Latino Book Awards, Honorable Mention, Best Biography (English) American Educational Research Association, Division B: Curriculum Studies, Outstanding Book Award Focusing on the didactic nature of the work of Reinaldo Arenas, this book demonstrates the Cuban writer’s influence as public pedagogue, mentor, and social activist whose teaching on resistance to normative ideologies resonates in societies past, present, and future. Through a multidisciplinary approach bridging educational, historiographic, and literary perspectives, The Dissidence of Reinaldo Arenas illuminates how Arenas’s work remains a cutting-edge source of inspiration for today’s audiences, particularly LGBTQI readers. It shows how Arenas’s aesthetics contain powerful insights for exploring dissensus whether in the context of Cuba, broader Pan-American and Latinx-U.S. queer movements of social justice, or transnational citizenship politics. Carefully dissecting Arenas’s themes against the backdrop of his political activity, this book presents the writer’s poetry, novels, and plays as a curriculum of dissidence that provides models for socially engaged intellectual activism. Publication of this work made possible by a Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

War Revolution And Remembrance In World Cinema written by Nancy J. Membrez and has been published by McFarland this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-05-15 with Performing Arts categories.

Two World Wars engulfed Europe, Asia and the United States, leaving indelible scars on the landscape and survivors. The trauma of civil wars in Spain (declared) and Latin America (tacit) spanned decades yet, contradictorily, bind parties together even today. Civil wars still haunt Africa where, in more recent years, ethnic cleansing has led to wholesale genocide. Drawing on the emerging field of Memory Studies, this book examines narrative and documentary films, made far from Hollywood, that address memory--both traumatic and nostalgic--surrounding these conflicts, despite attempts by special interests to erase or manipulate history.

Carlos Slim written by Diego Osorno and has been published by Verso Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-09-24 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

The biography of Carlos Slim, one of the richest people of all time, is not just the tale of the first man from a developing country to ever reach the top of the Forbes list of billionaires. It is the story of a character who represents the neoliberal mentality of our times, who mistrusts politicians, believes that the market is the most efficient mechanism for everything (even to combat corruption), and sees philanthropy as a social investment with businesses as the exclusive form of collective wealth. In this new book, produced through years of thorough investigation, Osorno examines this symbol of twenty-first-century capitalism and of Mexico. Similar surreal dimensions lead Osorno to openly ask whether a man as rich as him can also be a good person.
