I decided to write this book because I wish there'd been something like this available before I went abroad, just to give me some peace of mind that it would all be ok. Obviously, everybody's experience is different, but not knowing anybody who'd ever done a Year Abroad made it seem extra challenging: how do you fit 4 months worth of stuff into one suitcase? What is it like working in Spain? Do people really kiss each other on the cheek when they greet each other in Europe? How many kisses do you do?
