Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2005 in the subject Business economics - Marketing, Corporate Communication, CRM, Market Research, Social Media, grade: 1,8, University of Cooperative Education Mannheim (Berufsakademie Mannheim - Staatliche Studienakademie), course: International Marketing, 46 entries in the bibliography, language: English, abstract: Both number of advertisers and expenses for advertising have rapidly increased in Poland in the last years. From 1993 to 1994 advertising expenses grew from 299 to 469 million dollars. Continuous economical reforms and expenditure further contributed to this growth. Consequently, the case of Poland provides an ideal opportunity to study the impact an economy's stage of development has on advertising management (West / Paliwoda 1996, p. 82). Poland also offers huge potentials for its neighbouring countries which is especially true for Germany. From a German perspective it is eminently important to understand the differences between the German and the Polish culture as culture has a major impact on advertising and communication. The above justifies and is reason enough to have a deeper look at the Polish advertising market with reference to Germany. Therefore these issues will be dealt within the following study paper. It starts with theoretical background information on advertising and then continues with a secondary-statistical analysis of major advertisement conditions in the Polish and German markets. This involves comparing the legal framework and general infrastructure (advertising agencies, media) for advertising in the two countries. Furthermore, the attitudes of Poles and Germans towards advertisement will be explained as well as the influence the Polish and German cultures have on advertising appeals. The comparison concludes with an outlook on the further development of the advertising markets in Germany and Poland by stating potential similarities and differences.

Defining where the needs of contracting parties end, and where the mistreatment of animals begins is especially difficult in contract law, where protecting animals is not a basic premise. Thus, although animal law is a widely discussed topic, the position of animals under civil law has not been discussed comprehensively before. The first chapters of the book set the background for subsequent civil law considerations given that the object of a contractual obligation is an animal, and the impact this has on the conclusion, performance and consequences of non-performance of a contract. It constitutes a unique interdisciplinary and comparative work focused mainly on animals in contractual relations (e.g. sale, donation, lease, tenancy, commission, agency, safe-keeping, training contracts).

Intercultural Management written by Dirk Holtbrügge and has been published by SAGE this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-02-25 with Business & Economics categories.

This textbook explores the reasons for intercultural differences and their effects on the behavior of individuals and organizations within the context of management. The text embraces the presence of ambiguity and complexity and encourages critical thinking when it comes to intercultural relations in order to avoid ethnocentrism, stereotyping and prejudice, as well as overly simplistic solutions. Integrating findings from management, but also the humanities and social sciences, as well as politics and popular culture, intercultural management is understood as a phenomenon that transcends disciplinary boundaries and includes questions around identity constructions, power relations, and ethics. This makes intercultural management a fascinating and rewarding subject to study. Throughout, the author encourages an analytical approach to intercultural management built upon strong methodological foundations, and draws on examples from a wide range of different contexts and cultures to help reflectively translate research and concepts into practice in a way that is lively and engaging. This textbook is essential reading for students taking university courses related to intercultural management. Lecturers can visit the companion website to access a Teaching Guide and PowerPoint slides that can be adapted and edited to suit teaching needs. Dirk Holtbrügge is Professor of International Management at the School of Business, Economics and Society, Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany.

Common Culture And The Ideology Of Difference In Medieval And Contemporary Poland written by Teresa Pac and has been published by Rowman & Littlefield this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-02-10 with History categories.

Teresa Pac provides a much-needed contribution to the discussion on shared culture as foundational to societal survival. Through the examination of common culture as a process in medieval Kraków, Poznań, and Lublin, Pac challenges the ideology of difference—institutional, religious, ethnic, and nationalistic. Similarly, Pac maintains, twenty-first century Polish leaders utilize anachronistic approaches in the invention of Polish Catholic identity to counteract the country’s increasing ethnic and religious diversity. As in the medieval period, contemporary Polish political and social elites subscribe to the European Union’s ideology of difference, legitimized by a European Christian heritage, and its intended basis for discrimination against non-Christians and non-white individuals under the auspices of democratic values and minority rights, among which Muslims are a significant target.

The Origins Of Cultural Differences And Their Impact On Management written by Jack Scarborough and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998-02-18 with Business & Economics categories.

In cross cultural settings, the author suggests it is not enough to know that behavior differs across cultures, but also how differences in values drive behaviors. To truly understand the differences among cultures, one must understand their origins, how they emerged on the world stage, the various economic, political, physical, social, and religious forces that shaped them. This is a unique book in that it traces the antecedents of people's behavior and shows readers why cultures differ and includes suggestions for adjusting to these differences. Engrossing and revealing, Scarborough's book will be essential for corporate management and others involved in international commerce, but also for their counterparts in the public sector, who also understand why it is necessary to get along with people from other cultures in the pursuit of mutually beneficial goals. Scarborough says, There may be no greater, more significant void in the knowledge of educated adults than cross-cultural understanding. My book advances that understanding by explaining the reasons why behavior, attitudes, beliefs, and values differ across specific cultures. Its premise is that people who interact with others with different cultural backgrounds, whether in international or culturally diverse domestic settings, are much better prepared if they understand the reasons why people act, talk, think and feel as they do. Instead of being left with just lessons on behavior, to be learned by rote, readers will be able to rely on a substantive understanding of the cultures and societies in which they find themselves, as well as their own good common sense, and in this way work more productively and harmoniously with their counterparts abroad.
