Logit Models From Economics And Other Fields written by J. S. Cramer and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-08-21 with Business & Economics categories.

Logistic models are widely used in economics and other disciplines and are easily available as part of many statistical software packages. This text for graduates, practitioners and researchers in economics, medicine and statistics, which was originally published in 2003, explains the theory underlying logit analysis and gives a thorough explanation of the technique of estimation. The author has provided many empirical applications as illustrations and worked examples. A large data set - drawn from Dutch car ownership statistics - is provided online for readers to practise the techniques they have learned. Several varieties of logit model have been developed independently in various branches of biology, medicine and other disciplines. This book takes its inspiration from logit analysis as it is practised in economics, but it also pays due attention to developments in these other fields.

Logistic Regression written by David G. Kleinbaum and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-04-10 with Medical categories.

This is the second edition of this text on logistic regression methods, ori- nally published in 1994. As in the first edition, each chapter contains a presentation of its topic in “lecture-book” format together with objectives, an outline, key formulae, practice exercises, and a test. The “lecture-book” has a sequence of illust- tions and formulae in the left column of each page and a script (i.e., text) in the right column. This format allows you to read the script in conjunction with the illustrations and formulae that highlight the main points, formulae, or examples being presented. This second edition has expanded the first edition by adding five new ch- ters and a new appendix. The five new chapters are Chapter 9. Polytomous Logistic Regression Chapter 10. Ordinal Logistic Regression Chapter 11. Logistic Regression for Correlated Data: GEE Chapter 12. GEE Examples Chapter 13. Other Approaches for Analysis of Correlated Data Chapters 9 and 10 extend logistic regression to response variables that have more than two categories. Chapters 11–13 extend logistic regression to gen- alized estimating equations (GEE) and other methods for analyzing cor- lated response data. The appendix is titled “Computer Programs for Logistic Regression” and p- vides descriptions and examples of computer programs for carrying out the variety of logistic regression procedures described in the main text. The so- ware packages considered are SAS Version 8.0, SPSS Version 10.0, and STATA Version 7.0.

Regression Methods In Biostatistics written by Eric Vittinghoff and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-03-30 with Mathematics categories.

Here is a unified, readable introduction to multipredictor regression methods in biostatistics, including linear models for continuous outcomes, logistic models for binary outcomes, the Cox model for right-censored survival times, and generalized linear models for counts and other outcomes. The authors describe shared elements in methods for selecting, estimating, checking, and interpreting each model, and show that these regression methods deal with confounding, mediation, and interaction of causal effects in essentially the same way.

Linear Models written by Calyampudi R. Rao and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-04-06 with Mathematics categories.

An up-to-date account of the theory and applications of linear models, for use as a textbook in statistics at graduate level as well as an accompanying text for other courses in which linear models play a part. The authors present a unified theory of inference from linear models with minimal assumptions, not only through least squares theory, but also using alternative methods of estimation and testing based on convex loss functions and general estimating equations. Highlights include: - a special emphasis on sensitivity analysis and model selection; - a chapter devoted to the analysis of categorical data based on logic, loglinear, and logistic regression models; - a chapter devoted to incomplete data sets; - an extensive appendix on matrix theory; - a chapter devoted to the analysis of categorical data based on a unified presentation of generalized linear models including GEE-methods for correlated response; - a chapter devoted to incomplete data sets including regression diagnostics to identify Non-MCAR-processes The material covered is thus invaluable not only to graduates, but also to researchers and consultants in statistics.

Applied Logistic Regression written by David W. Hosmer, Jr. and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-10-28 with Mathematics categories.

From the reviews of the First Edition. "An interesting, useful, and well-written book on logistic regression models . . . Hosmer and Lemeshow have used very little mathematics, have presented difficult concepts heuristically and through illustrative examples, and have included references." —Choice "Well written, clearly organized, and comprehensive . . . the authors carefully walk the reader through the estimation of interpretation of coefficients from a wide variety of logistic regression models . . . their careful explication of the quantitative re-expression of coefficients from these various models is excellent." —Contemporary Sociology "An extremely well-written book that will certainly prove an invaluable acquisition to the practicing statistician who finds other literature on analysis of discrete data hard to follow or heavily theoretical." —The Statistician In this revised and updated edition of their popular book, David Hosmer and Stanley Lemeshow continue to provide an amazingly accessible introduction to the logistic regression model while incorporating advances of the last decade, including a variety of software packages for the analysis of data sets. Hosmer and Lemeshow extend the discussion from biostatistics and epidemiology to cutting-edge applications in data mining and machine learning, guiding readers step-by-step through the use of modeling techniques for dichotomous data in diverse fields. Ample new topics and expanded discussions of existing material are accompanied by a wealth of real-world examples-with extensive data sets available over the Internet.

Linear Models written by C.Radhakrishna Rao and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-06-29 with Mathematics categories.

The book is based on both authors' several years of experience in teaching linear models at various levels. It gives an up-to-date account of the theory and applications of linear models. The book can be used as a text for courses in statistics at the graduate level and as an accompanying text for courses in other areas. Some of the highlights in this book are as follows. A relatively extensive chapter on matrix theory (Appendix A) provides the necessary tools for proving theorems discussed in the text and offers a selection of classical and modern algebraic results that are useful in research work in econometrics, engineering, and optimization theory. The matrix theory of the last ten years has produced a series of fundamental results about the definiteness of matrices, especially for the differences of matrices, which enable superiority comparisons of two biased estimates to be made for the first time. We have attempted to provide a unified theory of inference from linear models with minimal assumptions. Besides the usual least-squares theory, alternative methods of estimation and testing based on convex loss func tions and general estimating equations are discussed. Special emphasis is given to sensitivity analysis and model selection. A special chapter is devoted to the analysis of categorical data based on logit, loglinear, and logistic regression models. The material covered, theoretical discussion, and its practical applica tions will be useful not only to students but also to researchers and con sultants in statistics.
