This work highlights how the costs and CO2-emissions of land-based wind turbines can be reduced by means of an innovative and material efficient support structure concept. Thereby the yaw system is placed at the tower base, allowing the whole wind turbine tower to be rotated. The potential of a rotatable inclined lattice tower concept was analysed by means of aero-servo-elastic load simulations in the FAST environment. A balance between different cost aspects revealed significant savings.

The International Ship and Offshore Structures Congress (ISSC) is a forum for the exchange of information by experts undertaking and applying marine structural research. Im Rahmen der Arbeit werden umfangreiche experimentelle und numerische Untersuchungen zum Rissfortschrittsverhalten in Stahlblechen unter zyklischer Beanspruchung, welche mit aufgeklebten CFK-Lamellen verstärkt wurden, sowie zum Trag- und Versagensverhalten geklebter CFK-Stahl-Überlappverbindungen durchgeführt. Anhand der Untersuchungsergebnisse wird ein ingenieurmäßiges bruchmechanisches Verfahren zur Abschätzung der Restlebensdauer CFK-verstärkter Stahlbleche abgeleitet und validiert. - Within the scope of the present work, extensive experimental and numerical investigations are carried out on the crack propagation behaviour in steel plates under cyclic loading, which have been reinforced with adhesively bonded CFRP lamellas, as well as on the load-bearing and failure behaviour of CFRP-steel double-lap joints. Based on the results, a fracture mechanics engineering procedure for estimating the remaining service life of CFRP-reinforced steel plates is developed and validated.

Baukonstruktionen sind häufig dynamischen Belastungen ausgesetzt. Hierdurch hervorgerufene Strukturschwingungen, die sowohl die Tragfähigkeit als auch die Gebrauchstauglichkeit negativ beeinflussen, müssen häufig durch dämpfende Maßnahmen begrenzt werden. In dieser Arbeit werden numerische, experimentelle und analytische Untersuchungen zum Dämpfungsverhalten geklebter Überlapp- und Kreishohlprofilsteckverbindungen unter Berücksichtigung spezifischer Randbedingungen des Bauwesens vorgestellt. - In this work, the damping properties of adhesively bonded joints are investigated numerically, experimentally and analytically. In numerical investigations on steel structures, the potential of bonded joints to optimise the structural dynamics is demonstrated. The damping properties of bonded joints are determined in experimental investigations. The development of a methodology for the analytical identification of functional relationships between the test results is a further focus of the work.
