L'animation socioculturelle occupe une place privilégiée au carrefour des chemins de la culture : elle manifeste la nécessité d'une articulation plus harmonieuse, entre une société éclatée et une nouvelle culture moderne naissante, elle exprime un besoin de communication sociale permanente, entre la création et le public, elle est elle-même une structure intermédiaire de diffusion culturelle, un lieu d'expression des cultures populaires, et un mouvement social volontaire, traduisant les aspirations à plus d'autonomie culturelle et plus d'égalité. Dans le champ de cette pratique, des personnages sont apparus, instigateurs, initiateurs, conseillers, organisateurs de loisirs, « récréologues », parfois militants, souvent techniciens : ce sont les animateurs socioculturels. L'auteur de cet ouvrage analyse, en premier lieu, les relations entre une société éclatée aux cent visages, et un nouveau type de culture moderne qui reflète cet éclatement social dans ses multiples facettes : socioculture, culture mosaïque, culture artistique, technique, scolaire, populaire, élitiste, médiatisée, professionnelle, commerciale, « underground », etc., dont les aspects multiples expriment le souci de nouveaux modes de vie, d'autonomie, de communication, de culture et de modernité. Il décrit ensuite les fonctions, itinéraires, caractéristiques, des agents culturels qui agissent dans ce champ et précise leur formation actuelle et la naissance d'une véritable profession d'animateur, avec ses règles, statuts, diplômes, qualifications, etc. Ce sont donc les différents aspects de la sociologie de l'animation culturelle qui sont étudiés, en liaison avec les acteurs qui interviennent dans ce champ culturel. Pierre Besnard poursuit ainsi son exploration des chemins modernes de la culture, dans sa socialisation croissante, et sa pénétration dans tous les secteurs de la vie quotidienne (« la culture est partout »), ainsi que l'analyse du rôle essentiel des animateurs dans ce processus de culture.

Over many years, I've analyzed dozens of books from various sources. I began by reading much of the literary editions promising immediate results, mostly from authors with background in psychology, offering memorization methods and concentration techniques, but nothing seemed to work. They didn’t work because were based on common sense, such as studying in quiet and well-lit locations, and also because, largely, they exposed scientific models of approach originating in the same social irrationality that was creating students with learning difficulties. In a society that considered the necessity of concentration as a fundamental and differential principle in the ability to learn, everything that was presented on learning followed the strengthening of that same social fallacy. The works available on the subject of learning appeared and appear to not consider what for society in general is not real – learning as a mental and emotional apprehension of reality. A forced retention of reality is promoted in our minds, as if it was possible to learn what you cannot comprehend, experience or apply with autonomy. Society has corrupted itself in the past centuries, and it is living in this situation with a natural and utter disregard for a constructive evolution of thousands of years. This has motivated me to analyze various works on mental health, namely, related to how the brain processes and analyses reality – which is normal and what is not. Inevitably, and as a consequence of the detachment towards the illusions of humanity, a new world was unveiled before my eyes, and with it new paths to know and discover. A good part of this new knowledge has changed my personality and altered my way of facing life forever.
