Se você é docente ou pesquisador da EJA e trabalha a Língua Portuguesa nesta modalidade, sobretudo o ensino dos gêneros textuais e produção de texto, certamente já ficou frustrado na busca de materiais didáticos específicos para se trabalhar com este público. É verdade, infelizmente, a Educação de Jovens e Adultos ainda é muito desprestigiada nas nossas universidades públicas e privadas. Em uma simples pesquisa nos repositórios digitais e bibliotecas dessas instituições de ensino, podemos constatar o ínfimo número, ou quase inexistente, de trabalhos publicados com esta temática. E isso provoca uma grande lacuna neste campo. É válido salientar que boa parte dos alunos da EJA, quando retorna à escola, cria uma grande expectativa em aprender a ler e escrever. Partindo dessa perspectiva, tentamos, nesta obra, responder a questionamentos como os seguintes: como se deve trabalhar a produção textual na Educação de Jovens e Adultos? O que os documentos oficiais determinam? Há metodologias para o trabalho com produção textual adequadas para EJA? A partir desses documentos oficiais e da literatura disponível, podemos trabalhar a produção textual com este público de modo a fazer com que esses estudantes consigam utilizar determinados gêneros textuais adequadamente no dia a dia? Para tal, trouxemos uma proposta de sequência didática elaborada especificamente para esta modalidade, ou seja, levando em consideração as peculiaridades da EJA, assim como o perfil desses estudantes.

Cohesion in English is concerned with a relatively neglected part of the linguistic system: its resources for text construction, the range of meanings that are speciffically associated with relating what is being spoken or written to its semantic environment. A principal component of these resources is 'cohesion'. This book studies the cohesion that arises from semantic relations between sentences. Reference from one to the other, repetition of word meanings, the conjunctive force of but, so, then and the like are considered. Further, it describes a method for analysing and coding sentences, which is applied to specimen texts.
