Oleh karenanya, potensi ini perlu dikembangkan dengan menerapkan kebijakan-kebijakan yang menguntungkan bukan saja bagi si pemilik modal akan tetapi juga bagi masyarakat sekelilingnya Masyarakat Banten adalah masyarakat sosialis religius dimana ulama dan kyai sangat berpengaruh besar dalam kehidupan masyarakat Banten. Oleh karenanya, pemerintah daerah perlu melakukan pendekatan pendekatan dengan cara yang lebih persuasif dan arif. menurut hemat kami, barangkali Metode pendekatan yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah daerah pada masa Orde Baru terhadap para ulama dan kyai lebih bernuansa politis kurang berhasil menciptakan kerjasama dan partisipasi yang kondusif dari mereka karena pendekatan yang lebih bernuansa politik akan menimbulkan reaksi yang beragam dari mereka titik fenomena ini justru kurang menguntungkan baik bagi pemerintah daerah sendiri maupun bagi masyarakat. menurut hemat kami, biarkan mereka berkonsentrasi dengan aktivitas mereka dalam bidang keagamaan tanpa dibebani oleh pesan-pesan politik. Para ulama dan kyai, sudah saatnya untuk menyatukan persepsi dan menggalang aksi titik tantangan yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat Banten cukup berat, bukan saja berkaitan dengan masalah masalah moralitas sebagai dampak dari modernisasi dan industrialisasi, tetapi yang paling mendesak adalah masalah ekonomi. Karena masih cukup banyak anggota masyarakat yang hidup dibawah garis kemiskinan dan fenomena ini sangat berpengaruh terhadap kehidupan beragama itu sendiri. oleh karenanya, diperlukan perumusan ajaran agama kaitannya dengan pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat karena bahasa agama masyarakat akan termotivasi.

This book offers a fresh approach towards the rich Indonesian religious and spiritual traditions with particular attention to the accounts of the emergence of indigenous prophets who founded some popular religions. It presents the history of prophetic tradition which remains alive in Indonesian society from the colonial to reform period. It also explores the ways in which these prophets rebelled against two hegemonies: colonial power in the past and Islamic orthodoxy in the present.
