Gently the father awakens Clarie to the God-given task of training Sprout (like the others) to be a man of worth. Highly historical, the story deals with the need of government in the back woods, challenges of raising a family, and the intrusion of the outsiders. The remainder of the book is a detailed journal of our last 16 months at Linefork, at the head of the 'holler'. It was an interesting life, and I hope you'll enjoy reliving it with me as you read it.
