Heat Carriers In Liquids An Introduction written by Jaeyun Moon and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-03-19 with Science categories.
This book provides a succinct overview of recent progress in characterization of heat carriers describing atomic motion in liquids. Unlike solids and gases where heat carriers are typically described by phonons and real atomic particles, the nature of effective heat carriers in liquids is still elusive. The emphasis is on two widely used spectral methods to describe heat carriers: instantaneous normal modes and velocity autocorrelation functions. Various bulk materials properties from a bottom-up perspective using these spectra are presented in detail. This book is an ideal introduction to the field for graduate students and young researchers.

Six years passed by since the NATO ASI on "Liquid and Amorphous Metals" was held in Zwiesel, Germany, in September 1979. The present one is the second NATO School devoted to research on disordered condensed matter, mainly liquid and amorphous metals. This time the title contains the word "materials" to explicitely include those aspects of the glassy state of insulators either shared with metallic glasses - e.g. the glass tran sition - or on the border line with metallic systems - e.g. the metal non-metal transition. The long period which purposely elapsed between the two Institutes indi cates the intention not to have "just another conference", but to review the state of affairs in the field with a somewhat more durable scope. This is especially important to help basic research to bridge towards applica tions and to introduce young researchers in this field. In fact, while the understanding of these materials and their properties is a tremendous challenge for experimental and theoretical physicists, glassy substances offer an enormous potential in-the development of new materials for tech nical applications. To this end, the Institute has brought together insiders and peers from allover the world to discuss basic principles and latest results and to help correlate future research effort. Another important aim was to intro duce newcomers to the field.

Dynamics Of The Liquid State written by Umberto Balucani and has been published by Clarendon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995-01-05 with Science categories.
The purpose fo this book is to present a comprehensive account of the physical concepts and theoretical approaches developed for the study of the dynamical properties of liquids (or more generally, of high-density fluids) at a microscopic level. After a discussion of the basic dynamical phenomena to be interupted, as well as of the various experimental probes, the book gradually exposes the reader to the sophisticated theoretical techniques needed for a satisfactory account of both single particle and coleective motions. The complications are faced in a stepwise fashion, with special attention to the physical content of the results. As a result of the progress achieved in the last decade, in the end a satisfactory understanding of most of the phenomena characterizing this fascinating field emerges.

This book gives a comprehensive and up-to-date treatment of the theory of "simple" liquids. The new second edition has been rearranged and considerably expanded to give a balanced account both of basic theory and of the advances of the past decade. It presents the main ideas of modern liquid state theory in a way that is both pedagogical and self-contained. The book should be accessible to graduate students and research workers, both experimentalists and theorists, who have a good background in elementary mechanics. - Compares theoretical deductions with experimental results - Molecular dynamics - Monte Carlo computations - Covers ionic, metallic, and molecular liquids
