Anand Samuel writes his book entitled "Beyond Doubt" with an inner conviction that comes through clearly. His lucid style and numerous personal illustrations make these deep truths and concepts very believable. Gautama Buddha is attributed to have said, "There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills." Samuel aims to release people from their bondage to doubt onto happy and peaceful living. The world we live in has trapped many of us in various forms of personal imprisonment. Jesus Christ powerfully asserted - ..". you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." Freedom is what everyone longs for. Samuel wishes for his readers to be set free in this world. Relationships are damaged. Individuals are enslaved. Trapped in doubt millions have surrendered their right to joy, peace and even love. "Beyond Doubt" promises to be a journey for the reader, taking you from doubt to faith. I recommend the book as an experience to rid your self of the major doubt i.e. a belief in a power beyond human existence, and then proceed to removing doubts that destroy harmony in everyday life. We live in an age of scepticism. Our society places such faith in empirical reason, historical progress, and heartfelt emotion that it's easy to wonder: why should anyone believe in Christianity? What role can faith and religion play in our modern lives? In this thoughtful and inspiring book, pastor and New York Times bestselling author Timothy Keller invites sceptics to consider that Christianity is as relevant now as ever. As human beings, we cannot live without meaning, satisfaction, freedom, identity, justice and hope - and Christianity provides us with unsurpassed resources to meet all these needs. It all started about ten years ago when I wanted to renew my faith in God. Unsure of all the generated media, talking heads, and constant onslaught of commentary between various Christian and non-Christian groups, I decided to study the Bible and history on my terms. I wanted to know what the Bible actually taught and how Christianity has played out through history. I wanted to put at ease any doubts and concerns that I had regarding many of what I saw as alarming aspects and practices. It is my assumption that the teachings and guidelines of an Omnipotent Creator would have depth, logic, and refined wisdom. These teachings would transcend time and advance society through foresight and reasoning. The teachings of Jesus Christ would be as relevant today as they were then. His teachings would promote unity and understanding that is needed to develop a Christian society. These teachings and guidelines would be constructed to advance not only Christendom but the entire world through knowledge and understanding. In these writing, I will try to show my understanding of Christianity. My perspective requires that logic and morals, and common sense must accommodate the teachings of Jesus Christ and Paul. I will try to do this by using not only scripture but by using our history and present social and economic conditions. In this I will try to show the correlation between how Jesus taught and his concept of Christianity and how to advance social and economic conditions. When you read the teachings of Jesus Christ in the New Testament, you will find the highest degree of moral values, ethics, and civility. Everything about the teachings in the New Testament is set up to propel Christians to work with love, compassion, understanding, empathy, and equality so that society can advance together. Being a Christian is a commitment of dedication to living a life defined by the love of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice to the well-being and salvation of every person who has ever lived. Christianity is a higher level of maturity and dedication of responsibility to living a life free of the destructive influences of this world. This is so that you can better use your time and resources to helping and guiding others that are in need. That is what being a Christian is all about.

Currents In Twenty First Century Christian Apologetics written by John J. Johnson and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-09-01 with Religion categories.

In this book, Johnson avoids the standard approach of many apologetic works that seek to "prove," in systematic fashion, that Christianity is true. Rather, he takes the position of orthodox Christianity and looks at various challenges that have been raised against it. For example, should the horrors of the Holocaust force Christian thinkers to alter their view of God's goodness? Is Christianity inherently anti-Jewish for claiming that Jews must embrace Jesus as Messiah? Are revived "hallucination theories" about Christ's resurrection tenable explanations of the birth of the Christian movement? Is the "presuppositional" approach of certain Reformed thinkers useful for doing Christian apologetics? These and similar questions are addressed in this book.

The God Who Believes written by Christian D. Kettler and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-09-01 with Religion categories.

How does one deal with doubt? Are faith and doubt irreconcilable? Does one's understanding of God affect the answers to these questions? Christian Kettler investigates these questions from a christological perspective, drawing implications from the Scottish theologian T. F. Torrance and his doctrine of "the vicarious humanity of Christ." If we take the humanity of Christ seriously, should we not speak of the faith of Jesus as a vicarious faith, believing for us and in our place when it is difficult if not impossible to believe? How Christians know God ("Jesus Knows God for Us and in Our Place"), who God is ("Who is the God Whom Jesus Knows?"), and how to believe in God in a world of suffering and evil ("Providence, Evil, Suffering, and the God Who Believes") receive new insight in light of this christological exploration. Wendell Berry's poignant novel of a humble country barber, 'Jayber Crow,' adds an incarnational context to a discussion with important pastoral and existential dimensions. In the vicarious faith of Christ we are not left, as James Torrance cautions us, to be thrown back upon ourselves, but called to participate by the Spirit in the faith of Jesus.

The book consists of 16 chapters, each dealing with a topic questioning the authenticity of the Bible. Beginning with the rediculous and fantasical content of the Old Testament, it moves on to the unprovable and equally unbelievable miracle-infused claims of the New Testament. Hult concludes the Bible to have been composed by deceptive/ill-informed -inclined mere human beings with no godly contact whasover.
