"Pleiochaeta Root Rot is a common disease of lupins in eastern Australia. It is recognised by the appearance of dark lesions on the root surface. The causal organism has been identified as Pleiochaeta setosa, which also causes Brown Leaf Spot disease. A previous study has been conducted on the variation in morphology and pathogenicity of P. setosa isolates from lupins and other legumes. The aim of that study was to determine the genetic variation between the fungi isolated from Narrow-Leafed lupin (NLL, Lupinus angustifolius) in Western Australia with reference to cultures from other parts of the world. This project aimed to build on the previous study to examine the variation by screening isolates from both Western Australia and New South Wales ... "--Abstract.
