Called to Believe is an abridgment and condensation of the more comprehensive text, Called to Believe, Teach, and Confess. It offers an accessible, introductory overview of the major doctrines of Christianity. Written from a Lutheran Christian perspective, this book is a helpful resource for those within that tradition and to others who seek a deeper and broader understanding of Christian teaching. Firmly rooted in Scripture, this book directs the reader back to the Bible. It emphasizes the interrelatedness of all Christian teachings, with its central teaching being the doctrine of justification by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It also includes the text of the three ecumenical creeds accompanied by a brief introduction to their historical background. This book is ideal as an introductory text for university or advanced high school students and for other Christian adults who seek to expand their knowledge of God's revelation and its application in human lives. It introduces and uses classic theological vocabulary and terminology, while offering clear definitions and application. Key terms, study questions, and a glossary help make this a valuable resource. Suggested readings from Scripture, and secondary sources guide the reader into deeper study.

Called by the Gospel is the title for a series of introductory theological textbooks written from a distinctly Lutheran perspective. In keeping with the predominant place of the gospel in Lutheran theology, this introductory volume on the New Testament carries the same title as the series, Called by the Gospel. Readers will find within its pages a high view of the Christian Scriptures, explanation of keys texts with careful attention to the historical and cultural contexts, particular focus on the presentation of Jesus by the various texts, and a conversational style that seeks to convey the message of the text for contemporary times. Although the book was written with university students in mind, any Christians who seek to deepen their grasp of the New Testament will find within its pages helpful and challenging insights. This book builds on material presented in the first volume of the series, Called to be God's People, and supplements its contents with maps, photos, suggested readings, discussion questions, and a glossary. Together these two volumes prepare the university student for an in-depth consideration of Christian doctrine in Called to Believe, Teach, and Confess.

Called to Be God's People is an introduction to the Old Testament designed for those who wish to have a comprehensive guide to the contents, theology, and important passages of the Old Testament. Written from a Lutheran perspective, this book is especially designed for those within that tradition and others who seek a guide to the canonical books of the Old Testament that consciously presents the Scriptures' message of Law and Gospel as well as the traditional Christian messianic understanding of Moses and the Prophets that points to Jesus as the fulfillment of God's promises to Israel. This book is ideal for university students and other Christian adults who seek to expand their knowledge of the background, content, and message of the Old Testament and its importance for Christian faith and life. It not only introduces important background information on each book of the Old Testament along with a general discussion of its contents and theology, but it also contains analyses of major passages within the Old Testament. Key terms, study questions, a glossary, a gazetteer of Old Testament people and places, maps, tables, charts, and sidebars make this book a useful and handy reference as well as a textbook. A concluding chapter on the centuries between the Old and New Testaments overlaps with a similar treatment contained in the New Testament volume in this series, Called by the Gospel, allowing for a smooth transition to the study of the rest of the Christian Scriptures.

The Catastrophe Theology is a theology learned by Francis Kai throughout the years he was thrown into the Valley of Achor. Although he had been a Catholic from ten years old, Francis did not know to receive grace from God in deep suffering when his wife, Martha, was diagnosed with brain cancer. During his search for spiritual help, Francis discovered Martin Luther was the first theologian to preach suffering. Luthers doctrine of justification by faith alone is the doctrine of salvation by grace alone through faith alone. Grace is the free gift of God to mankind. A Christian must learn the way to receive grace through his faith in Christ. Francis learned to receive grace by learning Luthers teaching: Submit totally to God. He was transformed from living his church life to Christian life. God calls us to bear great fruit for his glory in this suffering world. Francis learned the verse of John 14:12 from Pastor Scott Scruggs to do greater things than Jesus by telling his readers about the theology of suffering. A church that does not preach suffering is not Gods church. Francis learned to be a godly man from living a life in doctrine.

All my books can be read online for free at wayneodonnell.com. Mt. 10:8, “Freely you have received, freely give.” This booklet is included in and comprises of one section of my book "Predestination is to Glory not to Faith: Anti-Calvinism & Reformed Theology; Pro-Certainty of Sanctification & Glorification; In Romans 8, Romans 9, & John 6." Most other anti-Calvinist books deal heavily with the moral and philosophical travesties of Calvinism. For example, I highly recommend What Love Is This, by Dave Hunt. But this book tries to provide better expositions of the passages that lead good, godly men to accept Calvinism in the first place, like John 6, by paying attention to the small, under-appreciated detail, that the Bible says predestination is to sanctification and glory, not to faith. If I felt this task was already accomplished, I wouldn’t have written this book, but would have promoted the books that already did it.White (Calvinist), "There is no meaningful non-Reformed exegesis of [John 6:37-45] available. As numerous as the attempts of Arminian exegetes to find some way around the testimony of these verses has been, not even a plausible solution has been offered that does not require the complete dismantling of the text, redefinition of words, or the insertion of utterly foreign concepts." This book is the result of 1) a paper I wrote for a Soteriology class at Veritas International University, 2) my coming into contact with an increasing number of Reformed church plants, 3) my deep appreciation of D. Martin Lloyd-Jones’ teaching about the certainty of the hope of our future glorification, and 4) my gratitude for the simple gospel message I first heard when I was fourteen years old after having been raised a Roman Catholic. Jn. 3:36, "He that believes on the Son has everlasting life." Not, “He that is good,” or “He that goes to church,” or “He that is -predestined to- believe,” but “He that believes on the Son.” The gospel is a genuine offer for every person, in the way we usually think of an offer, and not something predetermined. My hope is that this book won’t only be a defense against Calvinism and its harms, and rescue some born-again Calvinists from Calvinism; but also that this consideration of the topic of predestination will give all readers a better understanding of the justification, sanctification, and glorification that comprise our gracious salvation, and this knowledge will also make us more fruitful. Jn. 15:7-8, “If ... my words abide in you, ... herein is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit.”
