Menulis puisi merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa kelas delapan. Namun, banyak kendala yang dihadapi oleh siswa dan guru dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi. Siswa sering merasa bosan dan tidak tertarik dengan pembelajaran menulis puisi. Selain itu siswa juga sering merasa kesulitan menuangkan gagasannya ke dalam bentuk puisi karena berbagai faktor. Seperti tidak memiliki ide dan terbatasnya perbendaharaan kosakata yang dimiliki. Guru juga sering merasa kesulitan mengajarkan menulis puisi karena merasa tidak mampu. Oleh karena itu, guru lebih sering hanya menggunakan metode ceramah dan penugasan dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi. Guru juga sering tidak menggunakan media pembelajaran. Selain itu, strategi yang diterapkan guru juga kurang kreatif dan kurang membangkitkan siswa berkreasi. Strategi yang diterapkan guru belum menggugah siswa mendapatkan inspirasi dalam penulisan puisi. Sehingga siswa kurang mendapatkan rangsangan baru yang membangkitkan daya imajinasinya. Buku ini memberikan contoh model pembelajaran menulis puisi yang membangkitkan siswa berkreasi dan memberikan inspirasi serta imajinasi siswa dalam menulis puisi. Harapannya dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran CIRC dan Reproduksi Puisi siswa tidak jenuh dan tidak lagi mengalami kesulitan dalam menuangkan ide dan gagasannya ke dalam bentuk puisi. Selain itu, diharapkan guru juga mudah dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran menulis puisi.
