Cerebral Ventricles written by Hayder R. Salih and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-12-09 with Medical categories.

This book uses the multiple-choice question (MCQ) format to specifically address the topic related to the cerebral ventricles. The mission of this book is to help readers revise the core concepts and maintain knowledge of the anatomy, pathology, and neurosurgery of the cerebral ventricles. This study companion is structured in five sections, for a total of 18 chapters, including 450 + MCQs in a convenient format to provide a comprehensive and concise overview. Answers and explanations appear immediately below the questions to enhance readability. This book is an adjunct to existing texts and does not intend to be the primary source of information; it rather aims to help readers identify their relevant strengths and weaknesses in the area. The content is based on the most up-to-date best practice evidence, with a style that mirrors the format adopted by most local, regional, and international board examinations. The student of neurosurgery, neurology, neuroscience, neuroanatomy, the residents, the fellows, the younger attending preparing for exams or practice, and even the later-stage surgeons or physicians are the target audience of this book.

It is, of course, a real challenge to summon together an International Sym posium in and around the Brain Stem and Third Ventricle. Up to this mo ment the various experiences and papers on this subject were distributed throughout the world literature, making it very difficult for someone in terested in the matter to have access to the actual state of knowledge. Therefore I believe such a meeting was long overdue and is a considerable attempt to open closed doors for present and future ambitious neurosurgi cal activities. After succeeding in previous symposiums of similar interest in Hanno ver, it was obvious that Prof. Madjid Samii and his coworkers took the in itiative of organizing such a meeting, bringing together - in the pure sense of the word - Neurosurgeons with Anatomists, Neurologists, Neuro physiologists, Neuroradiologists, ENT-, Maxillofacial-, Stereotactic-, and Radiosurgeons as well as other colleagues. One contribution after the other followed, from the basic sciences up to the operative management con sidering very new and actual concepts. Through the application of new microsurgical techniques and the incorporation of new understanding for the many problems afflicting the midline of the eNS, and based on a growing closer cooperation between the various disciplines, a wide field has opened up which concerns us all.

Circumventricular Organs And Brain Fluid Environment written by Armin Ermisch and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992 with Medical categories.

This volume provides a picture of the state of the art and of the perspectives opened by new powerful approaches to the study of the structure and function of "Circumventricular Organs" (CVOs). Studies on the CVOs reflected in this book comprise many aspects, from cellular elements to the whole organism: the accessibility of these organs for chemical signals, signal (ligand)-receptor interactions, the transfer of information to distinct brain regions, the effects induced in these brain regions and the influence on the regulation of body functions including autonomic and behavioral alterations. Some of these aspects strongly depend upon the microenvironment of the cells involved in this cascade of events. Therefore, the brain fluid environment in its broadest sense is a central focus. This excellent work is therefore an up-to-date report on interdisciplinary approaches and concepts, offering new insights into the complex phenomena of brain function, and shows directions in which to proceed.

Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy written by Roberto Alexandre Dezena and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-10-10 with Medical categories.

Endoscopic third ventriculostomy is the most widely performed neuroendoscopic procedure around the world. Several scientific papers appear in the scientific literature every month, with an increasing number, given the great interest neuroendoscopy has aroused as well as controversies about certain aspects of endoscopic third ventriculostomy. With this reasoning, the goal of this book is to be a reference in the revision of classic concepts and scientifically proven aspects about the indications and techniques of endoscopic third ventriculostomy, as well as new neuroendoscopic tendencies. The book is structured in 2 parts and into 7 chapters. Part I – Classic Concepts – comprises the first 2 chapters, covering general aspects of neuroendoscopy such as historical notes, endoscopic anatomy and ventricular system physiology. Part II – State-of-the-Art – comprises chapters 3 to 7. From chapters 3 to 6 the book will discuss general principles of endoscopic ventricular technique and the applications of endoscopic third ventriculostomy in different age groups, and its association to choroid plexus coagulation. Chapter 7 deals with alternative ways of communicating the ventricular system with the cisterns of the subarachnoid space. All chapters are richly illustrated with high resolution images; there are links to online access to demonstrative surgical videos. Designed for neurosurgeons at every level, the book will be unique in the market, as there is no similar book in the current scientific literature that specifically discusses endoscopic third ventriculostomy in its broadest sense.

Pediatric Hydrocephalus written by G. Cinalli and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Medical categories.

In the last ten years the pediatric neurosurgeon has witnessed a real revolution in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric hydrocephalus, the most frequently encountered condition in everyday clinical practice. The evolution of MRI and the advent of neuroendoscopic surgery have resuscitated the interest in the classification, etiology and pathophysiology of hydrocephalus. The book offers an updated overview on the recent progress in this field, and a new approach to hydrocephalus: the reader will find in it a modern and new presentation of an old disease, where genetics, endoscopy, cost-effectiveness analyses and many other aspects of the various therapies are extensively discussed. The volume will be useful not only for neurosurgeons, but for all specialists interested in the various aspects of hydrocephalus: pediatricians, radiologists, endocrinologists, pathologists and geneticists.
