Interacting chaotic oscillators are of interest in many areas of physics, biology, and engineering. In the biological sciences, for instance, one of the challenging problems is to understand how a group of cells or functional units, each displaying complicated nonlinear dynamic phenomena, can interact with one another to produce a coherent response on a higher organizational level. This book is a guide to the fascinating new concept of chaotic synchronization. The topics covered range from transverse stability and riddled basins of attraction in a system of two coupled logistic maps over partial synchronization and clustering in systems of many chaotic oscillators, to noise-induced synchronization of coherence resonance oscillators. Other topics treated in the book are on-off intermittency and the role of the absorbing and mixed absorbing areas, periodic orbit threshold theory, the influence of a small parameter mismatch, and different mechanisms for chaotic phase synchronization. The biological examples include synchronization of the bursting behavior of coupled insulin-producing beta cells, chaotic phase synchronization in the pressure and flow regulation of neighboring functional units of the kidney, and homoclinic transitions to phase synchronization in microbiological reactors.

Chaos Synchronization And Structures In Dynamics Of Systems With Cylindrical Phase Space

Chaos Synchronization And Structures In Dynamics Of Systems With Cylindrical Phase Space written by Nikolai Verichev and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-01-01 with Science categories.
This book develops analytical methods for studying the dynamical chaos, synchronization, and dynamics of structures in various models of coupled rotators. Rotators and their systems are defined in a cylindrical phase space, and, unlike oscillators, which are defined in Rn, they have a wider “range” of motion: There are vibrational and rotational types for cyclic variables, as well as their combinations (rotational-vibrational) if the number of cyclic variables is more than one. The specificity of rotator phase space poses serious challenges in terms of selecting methods for studying the dynamics of related systems. The book chiefly focuses on developing a modified form of the method of averaging, which can be used to study the dynamics of rotators. In general, the book uses the “language” of the qualitative theory of differential equations, point mappings, and the theory of bifurcations, which helps authors to obtain new results on dynamical chaos in systems with few degrees of freedom. In addition, a special section is devoted to the study and classification of dynamic structures that can occur in systems with a large number of interconnected objects, i.e. in lattices of rotators and/or oscillators. Given its scope and format, the book can be used both in lectures and courses on nonlinear dynamics, and in specialized courses on the development and operation of relevant systems that can be represented by a large number of various practical systems: interconnected grids of various mechanical systems, various types of networks including not only mechanical but also biological systems, etc.

Synchronization Techniques For Chaotic Communication Systems written by Branislav Jovic and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-08-20 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Since the early 1990s, when synchronization of chaotic communication systems became a popular research subject, a vast number of scientific papers have been published. However, most of today’s books on chaotic communication systems deal exclusively with the systems where perfect synchronization is assumed, an assumption which separates theoretical from practical, real world, systems. This book is the first of its kind dealing exclusively with the synchronization techniques for chaotic communication systems. It describes a number of novel robust synchronization techniques, which there is a lack of, for single and multi-user chaotic communication systems published and highly cited in world’s leading journals in the area. In particular, it presents a solution to the problem of robust chaotic synchronization by presenting the first fully synchronized, highly secure, chaos based DS-CDMA system. The book fills a gap in the existing literature where a number of books exist that deal with chaos and chaotic communications but not with synchronization of chaotic communication systems. It also acts as a bridge between communication system theory and chaotic synchronization by carefully explaining the two concepts and demonstrating how they link into chaotic communication systems. The book also presents a detailed literature review on the topic of synchronization of chaotic communication systems. Furthermore, it presents the literature review on the general topic of chaotic synchronization and how those ideas led to the application of chaotic signals to secure chaotic communication systems. It therefore, in addition to presenting the state of the art systems, also presents a detailed history of chaotic communication systems. In summary, the book stands out in the field of synchronization techniques for chaotic communication systems.

Dynamical System Synchronization (DSS) meticulously presents for the first time the theory of dynamical systems synchronization based on the local singularity theory of discontinuous dynamical systems. The book details the sufficient and necessary conditions for dynamical systems synchronizations, through extensive mathematical expression. Techniques for engineering implementation of DSS are clearly presented compared with the existing techniques.
