Software analysis patterns play an important role in reducing the overall cost and compressing the time of software project lifecycles. However, building reusable and stable software analysis patterns is still considered a major and delicate challenge. This book proposes a novel concept for building analysis patterns based on software stability and is a modern approach for building stable, highly reusable, and widely applicable analysis patterns. The book also aims to promote better understanding of problem spaces and discusses how to focus requirements analysis accurately. It demonstrates a new approach to discovering and creating stable analysis patterns (SAPs). This book presents a pragmatic approach to understanding problem domains, utilizing SAPs for any field of knowledge, and modeling stable software systems, components, and frameworks. It helps readers attain the basic knowledge that is needed to analyze and extract analysis patterns from any domain of interest. Readers also learn to master methods to document patterns in an effective, easy, and comprehensible manner. Bringing significant contributions to the field of computing, this book is a unique and comprehensive reference manual on SAPs. It provides insight on handling the understanding of problem spaces and supplies methods and processes to analyze user requirements accurately as well as ways to use SAPs in building myriad cost-effective and highly maintainable systems. The book also shows how to link SAPs to the design phase thereby ensuring a smooth transition between analysis and design.

This volume constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Joint IAPR International Workshops on Structural and Syntactic Pattern Recognition (SSPR 2012) and Statistical Techniques in Pattern Recognition (SPR 2012), held in Hiroshima, Japan, in November 2012 as a satellite event of the 21st International Conference on Pattern Recognition, ICPR 2012. The 80 revised full papers presented together with 1 invited paper and the Pierre Devijver award lecture were carefully reviewed and selected from more than 120 initial submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on structural, syntactical, and statistical pattern recognition, graph and tree methods, randomized methods and image analysis, kernel methods in structural and syntactical pattern recognition, applications of structural and syntactical pattern recognition, clustering, learning, kernel methods in statistical pattern recognition, kernel methods in statistical pattern recognition, as well as applications of structural, syntactical, and statistical methods.

Marketing has become increasingly popular, utilizing multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods and statistics to create robust frameworks for making informed and strategic decisions. Computational and modeling breakthroughs have resulted in a significant increase in the use of MCDM methods in marketing in the past decade, making it an ideal solution for many marketing problems. Statistics can now be used to conduct MCDM analyses on a variety of marketing problems, including new product introduction and pricing, using multiple data sources. Businesses can make more informed, strategic, and effective decisions by using MCDM methods and statistical analysis in marketing. By using these tools, marketers can improve market performance and competitive advantage by optimizing product development, pricing strategies, market segmentation, and campaign effectiveness. Multiple-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) Techniques and Statistics in Marketing explores the effects of MCDM techniques on marketing practices. It covers a wide range of statistics and research to examine MCDM in shaping modern consumer science. This book covers topics such as management science, product development, and consumer behavior, and is a useful resource for marketers, business owners, data scientists, academicians, and researchers.

If only it were possible to develop automated and trainable neural systems that could justify their behavior in a way that could be interpreted by humans like a symbolic system. The field of Neurosymbolic AI aims to combine two disparate approaches to AI; symbolic reasoning and neural or connectionist approaches such as Deep Learning. The quest to unite these two types of AI has led to the development of many innovative techniques which extend the boundaries of both disciplines. This book, Compendium of Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence, presents 30 invited papers which explore various approaches to defining and developing a successful system to combine these two methods. Each strategy has clear advantages and disadvantages, with the aim of most being to find some useful middle ground between the rigid transparency of symbolic systems and the more flexible yet highly opaque neural applications. The papers are organized by theme, with the first four being overviews or surveys of the field. These are followed by papers covering neurosymbolic reasoning; neurosymbolic architectures; various aspects of Deep Learning; and finally two chapters on natural language processing. All papers were reviewed internally before publication. The book is intended to follow and extend the work of the previous book, Neuro-symbolic artificial intelligence: The state of the art (IOS Press; 2021) which laid out the breadth of the field at that time. Neurosymbolic AI is a young field which is still being actively defined and explored, and this book will be of interest to those working in AI research and development.
