Until the astonishing revival of the 1990s, it hadn't won a senior All-Ireland Championship since 1914, or a Munster Championship since 1932. It was one of that team, Ger Loughnane, who eventually forced the breakthrough as manager in 1995. The Clare revival coincided with a massive upsurge of interest in hurling nationally. from the early twentieth century until the present day. It pays due attention to hurling, football and handball alike, and doesn't neglect the very important social and cultural side of the Association's life in the county.
