Introduction To Modern Methods Of Quantum Many Body Theory And Their Applications written by A. Fabrocini and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002 with Science categories.

The book contains pedagogical articles on the dominant non-stochastic methods of microscopic many-body theories: Density functional theory, coupled cluster theory, and correlated basis functions methods in their widest sense. Further articles introduce students to applications of these methods in front -- line research such as Bose-Einstein condensates, the nuclear many-body problem, and the dynamics of quantum liquids. These keynote articles are supplemented by experimental reviews on intimately connected topics of current relevance. The book addresses the striking lack of pedagogical reference literature in the field that allows researchers to acquire the requisite physical insight and technical skills. The volume should, therefore, not only researchers to acquire the requisite physical insight and technical skills. The volume should, therefore, not only serve as a collection of information relevant to those who attended the school, but it provides be useful reference material to a broad range of theoretical physicists in condensed matter and nuclear theory.

This book on solid state physics has been written with an emphasis on recent developments in quantum many-body physics approaches. It starts by covering the classical theory of solids and electrons and describes how this classical model has failed. The authors then present the quantum mechanical model of electrons in a lattice and they also discuss the theory of conductivity. Extensive reviews on the topic are provided in a compact manner so that any non-specialist can follow from the beginning. The authors cover the system of magnetism in a similar way and various problems in magnetic materials are discussed. The book also discusses the Ising chain, the Heisenberg model, the Kondo effect and superconductivity, amongst other relevant topics. In the final chapter, the authors present some works related to contemporary research topics, such as quantum entanglement in many-body systems and quantum simulations. They also include a short review of some of the possible applications of solid state quantum information in biological systems. The atomic nuclei are unique quantum many-body systems that consist of not only protons and neutrons but also hyperons. Hadrons of a finite number are interacting through the strong interaction which is short ranged, having various exchange characters and spin-orbit and tensor forces. The nucleus shows various facets such as independent-particle phenomena, cluster structures, resonance phenomena and collective motions, depending on the excitation energy and the nucleon number combinations. The studies of their proper dynamics, change of structures, nuclear reactions, and interplays of different aspects have been of great interests. Moreover, in recent years, the experimental and theoretical research field of nuclear physics is progressing and expanding to cover rich many-body dynamics under extreme conditions such as high-lying nuclear states, very neutron-rich nuclei, hypernuclear systems, and astrophysical objects. In order to meet the requirements of graduate and undergraduate students, including young researches, the book describes not only the basic aspects of nuclear physics, but also instructive and detailed contents of several research areas which the authors like to emphasize in timely studies of the discipline.

The main theme of the book is the intimate connection between the two families of exactly solvable models: the inverse-square exchange (ISE) and the nearest-neighbor exchange (NNE) models. The latter are better known as the Bethe-Ansatz solvable models and include the Heisenberg spin chain, t–J models and Hubbard models. The former, the Calogero–Sutherland family of models, are simple to solve and contain essentially the same physics as the NNE family. The author introduces and discusses current topics, such as the Luttinger liquid concept, fractional statistics, and spin–charge separation, in the context of the explicit models. Many Body Methods For Atoms Molecules And Clusters written by Jochen Schirmer and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-11-02 with Science categories.

This book provides an introduction to many-body methods for applications in quantum chemistry. These methods, originating in field-theory, offer an alternative to conventional quantum-chemical approaches to the treatment of the many-electron problem in molecules. Starting with a general introduction to the atomic and molecular many-electron problem, the book then develops a stringent formalism of field-theoretical many-body theory, culminating in the diagrammatic perturbation expansions of many-body Green's functions or propagators in terms of Feynman diagrams. It also introduces and analyzes practical computational methods, such as the field-tested algebraic-diagrammatic construction (ADC) schemes. The ADC concept can also be established via a wave-function based procedure, referred to as intermediate state representation (ISR), which bridges the gap between propagator and wave-function formulations. Based on the current rapid increase in computer power and the development of efficient computational methods, quantum chemistry has emerged as a potent theoretical tool for treating ever-larger molecules and problems of chemical and physical interest. Offering an introduction to many-body methods, this book appeals to advanced students interested in an alternative approach to the many-electron problem in molecules, and is suitable for any courses dealing with computational methods in quantum chemistry.

A timely presentation of new results, challenges, and opportunities in the quickly developing field of nuclear cluster physics, presented by an international group of eminent theoretical and experimental scientists active in the field. Their work reveals how correlations of nucleons can appear spontaneously, propagate, and survive in nuclear matter at both low and high densities. Characteristic nuclear substructures, beyond those predicted by mean-field or collective scenarios, appear on microscopic and cosmic length scales. They can influence the dynamics of fusion of light nuclei and the decay of heavy, fissioning nuclei or of systems produced transiently in heavy-ion reactions. A must-read for young scientists entering the field and a valuable resource for more seasoned nuclear researchers!

This volume features invited lectures presented in the workshop-cum-symposium on aspects of many-body effects in molecules and extended systems, Calcutta, February 1 - 10, 1988. The organizers invited leading experts to present recent developments of many-body methods as applied to molecules and condensed systems. The panorama portrayed is quite broad, but by no means exhaustive. The emphasis is undoubtedly on a "molecular point of view".
