This volume covers the latest methods and analytical approaches used to study the computational analysis of three-dimensional (3D) genome structure. The chapters in this book are organized into six parts. Part One discusses different NGS assays and the regulatory mechanism of 3D genome folding by SMC complexes. Part Two presents analysis workflows for Hi-C and Micro-C in different species, including human, mouse, medaka, yeast, and prokaryotes. Part Three covers methods for chromatin loop detection, sub-compartment detection, and 3D feature visualization. Part Four explores single-cell Hi-C and the cell-to-cell variability of the dynamic 3D structure. Parts Five talks about the analysis of polymer modelling to simulate the dynamic behavior of the 3D genome structure, and Part Six looks at 3D structure analysis using other omics data, including prediction of 3D genome structure from the epigenome, double-strand break-associated structure, and imaging-based 3D analysis using seqFISH. Written in the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology series format, chapters include introductions to their respective topics, lists of the necessary materials and tools, step-by-step, readily reproducible laboratory protocols, and tips on troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls. Gene Regulation And Epigenetics written by Carsten Carlberg and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-10-04 with Science categories.

This book delves into the fascinating realm of eukaryotic gene regulation. The specific expression of genes shapes the phenotype of cells and tissues. The regulation of gene expression, including up- and downregulation, is a fundamental aspect of nearly all physiological processes, both in health and disease. These dynamic processes respond to various daily challenges, such as dietary changes and infections. Therefore, it is crucial for not only biologists and biochemists but also all students in biomedical disciplines to understand gene regulation concepts. This foundational knowledge will benefit them in their specialized fields. A comprehensive understanding of transcription factors and the mechanisms that alter their activity is a fundamental goal of modern life science research. Epigenetics refers to the packaging and accessibility of the genome in each of the trillions of cells in our bodies. The prefix “epi” (meaning “upon,” “above,” or “beyond”) indicates that epigenetic processes do not alter the DNA sequence of our genome, adding a layer of information beyond that encoded in our genome. Genomic DNA is wrapped around complexes of histone proteins, helping it fit into a cell nucleus with a diameter of less than 10 μm. This protein-DNA complex is known as chromatin. The content of this book is linked to the “Molecular Medicine and Genetics” course, which the author has lectured on in various forms since 2002 at the University of Eastern Finland in Kuopio. This book is an updated version of the textbooks “Mechanisms of Gene Regulation” and “Human Epigenomics.” It is divided into 16 chapters. Following two introductory chapters, four chapters explore gene regulation from the perspective of transcription factors, while another four chapters focus on chromatin and non-coding RNA. Three chapters then discuss the impact of epigenetics from a health perspective, and the final three chapters address epigenetics from the perspective of diseases. A glossary in the appendix explains the major specialist terms.

Genome Analysis And Human Health written by Leena Rawal and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-06-08 with Medical categories.

This book highlights selected current data and its relevance in the human health care system, offering a fundamental primer on genetics and human health. With the advent of new high-throughput technologies (for the whole genome including exome sequencing), the conventional focus on genetics and individual genes is now shifting toward the analysis of complex genes, gene-gene interactions and the association between genes and environment, including epigenetics. The rapidly changing scientific research landscape, with the ever-growing influx of data on one hand and emergence of newer and more complicated diseases on the other, has created a dilemma for researchers and caregivers, who are still hopeful that advances in genetics and genomics will provide avenues for the understanding, prevention and possible cure of human diseases. The book focuses on the interactions between genes and proteins at both the transcriptome and proteome levels, which in turn affect the human genome and health. Additionally, it covers the domain that must be explored in order to understand the gene-gene and protein-protein interactions that contribute to human health. The book offers a valuable guide for all students and researchers working in the area of molecular genetics and genomics.
